What does your DD12 take to school as a snack/ eat for breakfast?

Sporty DD, not a fan of big meals and sometimes I worry she doesn't eat enough for the amount of sport she does.
School is 2.2km away (height difference of about 80m so a big hill to get up one direction) - cycle or walk 4 times a day.
Does sport after school for 1.5-2.5 hours 4 times a week.
Weekends are usually one day at home, one day a few hours walk/bike/swim or competition.

She will e.g. eat a peach for breakfast.

What can I give her that is very filling (and nutritious) compared to its size? Quick and practical to eat at break?

Nutrigrain bar, banana or protein bar

I’d look at what she eates through out the whole day instead. My dd17 does similar level of high level sport doesn’t often eat breakfast, she does eat for lunch and dinner (late after training) “dinner” food, so chilli for lunch and pasta bake for tea type thing. She’ll have a hot chocolate before college and a biscuit but not a breakfast as such. She’s like my DH he does ultras also only eats 1-2 meals a day both are very fit and healthy.

Would she have a drink rather than food? So maybe natural full fat yoghurt for protein and calcium, a piece of fruit, some oats, milk and ice?

As a smoothie. Forgot that bit. Face. Palm.

Deliciously ella bar & banana - healthy option
Croissant / Pain au Choc / Brioche - unhealthy option

It's more a time thing, when she was going to football camp last week she was having cereal & fruit.

She can get a snack at school at breaktime if she's hungry.

@GoSummer676 she does eat decent meals as her main meals, but she doesn't eat a lot in one go. We definitely noticed she was e.g. tired a lot etc and I think she wasn't eating enough last year and that was without having to get herself to school and back.

@ConfusedKoala13 there is no food at school, she has to take it with her, hence asking for ideas!

My ds will have a smoothie in the morning or cereal but occasionally he will grab an apple on the way out. If he stopped eating breakfast I'd probably have a smoothie ready to go or make/ buy some type of oaty flapjack/ breakfast bar type thing. If you have more time bacon baps etc might be a winner?

Mine like home made instant porridge. So easy.
In a chillys pot/thermos food flask, add a scoop of fine oats, a generous spoon of milk powder and sugar to taste, all stirred really well. Can be prepared the night before.

In the morning add boiling water and stir. Put the lid on and should be good till lunch.

You can add all sorts of things to it to jazz it up. Frozen cherries, dark chocolate chips, cinnamon and dried apple. Options are limitless.

I buy these oats:

And nido milk powder.

Creamy Superfast Oats – Mornflake - Mighty Oats

We carefully cut the oats into three before gently rolling them. The smaller oat flakes absorb the water or milk quicker, making them cook superfast, perfect for a smooth and creamy porridge.

both my DDs use food flasks and fill with pasta or chilli type foods. Often left overs from dinner then have a wrap/naan bread/nachos on the side. Jordan’s bars or banana or apple good for quick snack. Babybels and a pot of nuts almonds & pecans are all good protein sources. One of my DDs is neurodivergent so we focus on food as fuel whenever the time is right rather than a type of food for breakfast as such. So she’ll have cheese or carrot sticks at 9am.

My nephew has porridge in a cardboard coffee cup and he eats it on the way to school.
