Why is there so much information about covid? Or maybe not misinformation but more of an ignorance?

Like so many people I forgot about covid or I stopped caring about it. I was scared of the virus when it first emerged and the vaccines helped to minimise covid and let it fade into the background. I got covid week and it wasnt nice. It was like a full blown flu for a few days and then there was a recovery period.

I am now scared of covid. Apparently immunity doesn't last and with so any varients, you can get it again within weeks.

I dread to think what an infection like that is going to do if I was to get that every few weeks.

Very little people are aware of reinfection within a matter of weeks. The information is there online but it's not on any mainstream news.

Apparantly does does a number on people's immune systems and people can be prone to other infections after covid.

I am now actually afraid. So much so that I won't be continuing plans for some concerts I was going to attend and I will start wearing masks again on public transport and other crowded public places.

I am astonished with how little people know and care about covid irl.

It's tricky, I'm not sure how much faith I would put into believing forums. It's like saying you believe everything on mumsnet 🤣. I mean that with humour by the way.

My own experience.. I had covid at the end of June this year. My 3rd or 4th. I have long covid (a rheumatologist has said that but I'm unsure tbh, it's complicated).

I have really really bad luck with my health and a list of conditions as long as your arm - which means I catch everything going.

I recently spent the whole day with my mum (sitting beside her for hours on a sofa, at a dinner table, and 2 x 30min car journeys.) Her notable symptoms started the next day and I've managed to avoid it. Honestly, I was convinced that I would end up with it again but didn't.

That was 13 days ago I spent that time with her (and she's still quite ill tbh)

I'm not scared, never have been and I've never had it. You be scared if you want.

It has been 4 years.
You keep reading in Covid forums about people getting re-infected with Covid week on week because it is an echo chamber where people talk about nothing else. Out in the real world, people are not even talking about it.

Saying that, my local Lidl was playing stuff about social distancing on the tanoy recently.

Have never really been frightened of Covid and certainly am not now

What kind of mask do you wear OP?
