Nits!

Please give me all your hints. The kids got a "wonderful" end of school gift. I can't get rid of them. Have been using Lyclear treatment and have boiled the pillows and soft toys. Thought they had all gone.
Brushed their hair this morning and pulled out more. Pillows and toys are back in the wash and Lyclear treatment is back in the hair, what else can I do?

Garlic oil.

Brush hair everyday with conditioner and a nitty gritty comb. Then every other day, every 3 days, until completely gone.

It’s the only way. The chemicals don’t work and honestly I don’t bother washing anything as they don’t live on bedding, and only hair.

Conditioner and nitty gritty comb has never failed.

Just keep combing. I don't think you need to boil the pillows or soft toys? Just keep combing the hair with a nitty gritty to break the cycle.

o hell just what you need have you used lyclear creme rinse along side other lyclear products.I use both the creme rinse version and the cheaper version .I use the creme rinse once then the cheaper version a week later and then lots of conditioner in between with lots of combing

You need to use conditioner and nit comb every other day to get rid of all of the eggs.

Hedrin and a plain white plastic comb used every night. You don’t need to boil bedding. Both DD and me had headlice for 7 years because another parent at primary school couldn’t be bothered to treat their DD and school couldn’t enforce it, not a safeguarding issue etc. I spent so much money on different insecticide lotions, electric combs, metal combs, electric combs etc. Tea tree oil, garlic oil, lavender oil, conditioner didn’t work. Hedrin suffocates the lice through their skin but you need to keep combing to get rid of the eggs. My friend who was a science teacher actually put ten live lice in a bowl of water and ten live live lice in a bowl of nit lotion overnight and all 20 were still walking around the next morning - her DD had the same problem. We were both teachers and sick of being infested. I lived with this from when my DD was 4-11 and Hedrin plus the plastic comb were the only solution. I never went anywhere without a supply of white plastic nit combs for years.

We had them in December.

We used the conditioner / Nitty Gritty comb method. You must do it religiously though (I have two girls with long curly hair and it took forever).

We did treat before with NitWits (from Amazon). I then did 3 days in a row of conditioner & combing and then every other day with conditioner & combing for a week after. So it was about 11 days all in.

If there is an outbreak then I always check hair by using conditioner & combing. We've not had any since December though.

Neem oil, kryptonite for nits, lice etc after all the other things failed. Leave on overnight & shampoo off in morning. Do the conditioner and nit comb thing too.

You need to use conditioner and nit comb every other day to get rid of all of the eggs.

This is the only answer. Can take up to an hour per person every time you do it if they've got long hair, but its the only thing that works.

And even after you think you've got them all, keep checking for a good two weeks. They're persistent little buggers.

Or you could do what I did when I caught them off DD and just shave your head!
