Can't find how to change postage option on VInted - any help appreciated!

I've changed the postage options previously on my Vinted account, but today can't find them anywhere. I'm pretty sure I've looked everywhere...Can anyone guide me in the right direction? I've looked at the 'postage' section but that's only my address. I'm looking for my options for posting to buyers.

Thank you!

I live rurally. As the crow flies some options for postage appear close to me but they are a difficult journey through town where inpost and evri both are to the next town. If this is a permanent change I’ll cancel my account. I don’t have the time or the want to be going further than I need to for a £3 top. Ridiculous trial by Vinted.

ButtSurgery · 08/08/2024 08:44

I'm currently not in the trial, but I can't use InPost - I'd have to drive 7 miles each way and pay £1.50 toll to get to the nearest lockers, so it's switched off for me.

I only accept Yodel, Evri or DPD for both sending to me or me shipping!

Exactly my situation and I agree 100%

Mine is still showing the options so doesn’t look like the trial is rolled completely out. However if it does I’m scuppered. I live 2.5h drive to the closest evri or inpost locker. Weirdly not going to do that for a £3 top.

I’ve been doing Vinted for about a month to declutter ans that has worked really well.

however, they muddled up the labelling of two parcels, lost one and damaged one. Their customer service is useless, it’s a bot. I cancelled and refunded the orders, each one want a lot of money and it occurred to me that’s a great business model. I don’t mind losing a tenner in order to keep my ratings, so they don’t have to do customer service.

I’ll keep going with it, I need to declutter and rbis is working but if they change my posting arrangements it will be too much hassle for 3 quid.

Vinted don't lose or damage parcels. They are not a shipping company, just an advertising agent for us, the sellers. That's nothing to do with them.

I would be surprised to learn they muddled labels when it's an automated system - have they accepted they did that? Sure you didn't stick the wrong ones on the parcels?

Ligglepiggle · 08/08/2024 08:58

I’ve had an issue with bundles. Someone bought 3 items from me and it never asked me to confirm postage size, it’s just done a label for small.
thankfully they don’t care in the Evri drop off but had it been inpost it wouldn’t have fit in the slot. I’ve never had this happen before it’s always come to me to confirm postage and then gone back to the buyer to confirm 🤔

It's a common problem particularly with Inpost and Evri where the couriers stick the wrong label on the wrong parcel. There is even a vinted facebook group for trying to reunite people with their parcels as it happens so often. Or you have to trust that the people who receive the wrong parcels will send them back to you, but vinted won't get involved so if they decide to keep it then there's nothing you can do

Ah see that's my ignorance - I only ship where I'm the person applying the label. I've never left a parcel unlabelled - even with Evri it's my local shop and you print it yourself from the machine there.

If there’s a mix up you shouldn’t cancel and refund! Sit tight and you get your money back eventually.

GoingRoundInOvals · 08/08/2024 13:14

(Whispers)

my postage settings seem to be back...

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 08/08/2024 13:22

They're back!!!!!

Thank you, @GoingRoundInOvals - you prompted me to check!

Wtf are vinted playing at?? Going to change them quick sharpish before they disappear again....

Just had a reply from them basically saying we try new things to improve your experience (!) but this time we fucked up so we've restored everyone's postage
settings. I mean, whose idea was this?

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 08/08/2024 16:44

@BringMeTea - I'm impressed that you managed to message them! How did you do that??

I created another post on here exactly about this! I also contacted them. Took them several days to get back to me. They explained it was a trial. Very annoying as I had somebody buy something from me and choose a postage option that I was unable to offer (printing a label), so had to cancel.

I then had a new email this morning saying the following:

*Hi xxx,

We’ve restored previous postage settings for sellers. You can choose which shipping options to offer your buyers again.

On Monday, we made all shipping providers automatically available to buyers. We regularly test new features on Vinted to be sure we’re offering you the best experience. But we’ve heard your feedback: this time around it didn’t help.

We’ve returned all your earlier preferences. You don’t need to do anything, but you can check your postage settings.

We’re sorry about the disruption,
Team Vinted*

Glad it's all sorted, but what a palavar!

RosaBaby2 · 08/08/2024 17:04

My postage options never disappeared however buyers are choosing from them all anyway so just because you can see you've only got 3 ticked doesn't mean that they can't use the others. That's my experience so far anyway!

So annoying!

Mishmashs · 08/08/2024 17:09

Ah this explains what has happened. I’ve always sent via Evri, customer bought something so I packed it up and went to the app to get the label only to discover it was Yodel which is flipping miles away. I ended up cancelling the order and changing my courier options to only Evri and then she bought the item again. Lucky she was patient while I faffed around sorting it out.

blackcherryconserve · 08/08/2024 17:10

That explains why my most recent purchases are Inpost I suspect. I really dislike it as postal deliveries are often delayed just now due to summer holidays apparently!

BringMeTea · 08/08/2024 17:12

@PunishmentRoundupWithJoon messaged via the Help section, My accounts and settings...
