Wrong stamp - do I let sender know?

A good friend sent me a birthday card as usual but they used one of the old stamps without a bar code. So RM held on to it due to the stamp being invalid and I had to pay to get it. At that point I didn’t know what it was, just a grey card with our surname saying you have post, and as DH is dealing with some legal stuff we thought we’d better pay up as it might be important.

The friend works in an office so shouldn’t be unaware of the change in stamps. I’m pretty sure I’ve not pissed them off and this is not a passive aggressive way of being petty, they’re not like that. However they can be a bit disorganised at times. Should I let them know they’re using out of date stamps? Is not about the money at all, and I’m grateful they’ve remembered my birthday and took the trouble to send a card, but if they’re posting important /official stuff with those stamps it could be going awol.

Don’t most offices just email
now and ones that don’t pay for postage online?

I would be mortified if you told me. I work in an office and haven’t used a stamp for years.

Don't say anything. It's not worth embarrassing her for.
