Riots all over the place and now I read about a fucking checkpoint set up by racists yesterday demanding drivers show them their colour and tell them their nationality before they let them pass.

I was in an interracial couple, and it wouldn't have put me off then. But now I have a mixed race dd, I would consider what part of the city we were going to, how scared my dd might be etc, and on the whole I'd rather not risk exposing her to racist slurs etc. But of course, we live in a city too and I can't guarantee her protection.
