Covid cough

I got covid last week. I was unwell for the week and I am still not better. One of my symptoms now is a cough and it's intense. I am having coughing fits.

I had a 'cold' earlier in the year and I write 'cold' because I suspected covid but it never came up on tests. I had a stubborn cough for weeks and weeks. I think in the end when nothing worked I shocked my body one weekend and ignored all instructions on over the counter medicines. Something that worked for me was a codeine cough bottle.

Should I get the same bottle again or will I go to my doctor. I have a wheeze as well so maybe my doctor my give me something like an inhaler.

My taste is off and it's bad because I have the paxlovid and that's known to cause a bad taste.

I had a bad Covid cough when I caught it earlier this year. I was bedridden for 3 weeks and then coughing virtually nonstop for about 3 months after. If I spoke for more than a few minutes I would lose my voice which was fun in, the thankfully online, meetings at work. The doctor prescribed both daily and rescue inhalers. They initially did not do chest X-rays because they said the results would definitely show the same Covid lung everyone had, but after 2 months they did go ahead and check. Lungs were apparently just what they see with Covid. I’m 5 months out now and still need inhalers sometimes. I struggle to walk up stairs. The nonstop coughing fits have stopped. I still cough more than I used to, but it’s waning.

you just have to wait it out

Yeah, codeine is good for coughs. I had it for weeks and then developed asthma so I would just say don't let it go on too long without treatment
