@CrispsnDips good luck

Thank you ☺️
I’m also grateful for good health, a nice family, a nice home, great friends and time to enjoy my love of cycling

I've just retired from a demanding job. I don't have to go anywhere, do anything or see anyone I don't want to for the rest of my life.

I’m grateful for my dp (partner not parent). He is my rock, I am his. We work through difficult times together so well, he gives me a squidge before I realise I needed it; we share the same values and he listens to me and my needs. We had an emergency this weekend and we’ve sorted it out, everyone is safe and well. I am lucky.

After almost a decade of being too nervous to try to do it, I managed to get the doors off my Smeg oven, dismantle them, clean all the glass layers and more importantly, get them back on again. Whoop!

Taking happiness where I can get it. Little things.

I am thankful for good neighbours. Yesterday we left my boyfriends dog (he normally works from home so she isn’t left) at my house and we took my daughter for work experience and lunch - my lovely neighbour was really nice but asked my daughter if there was anything THEY could do as his dog had yapped for 3 hours whilst we were out. They were asking as they were being driving demented by the barking and had gone out to get away from it but they were wondering if they could have taken her in their garden on something and should of used their key and apologies for leaving her (!) - they had done nothing wrong. Boyfriend brought them a bottle of red wine and bottle of white wine- we had to go out this morning and she came (she’s a rescue dog) so no barking and she won’t be left we can work it so she isn’t ever left - we are trying to train her but she’s a rescue. I went around and just apologised and gave them the wine and said it will never happen again and it won’t. Neighbours got emotional and said sorry and that they hadn’t meant to say anything but that their daughter had been in day surgery (different house but same road) for breast cancer and they were exhausted from it. Cue lots of tears and hugs and apologies. I have promised he won’t leave the dog again - he left her with my dogs but mine don’t bark ever. So grateful that I have a neighbour I can apologise to and they are great - unlike some of the stories here on mumsnet. I’m so pleased that despite being driven demented (we really thought she would stop) they have accepted the apology and wine.

I hear you, I swept my kitchen and brought my bins in. Small wins.

@SecretWitch Aww I hope you feel better soon. I had a mild UTI about a month or so ago and that was painful enough. The day I could pee again without having to grip hold of the sink was bloody wonderful!

OooohAhhhh · 03/08/2024 23:42

To be back home sleeping in my own bed after a mini holiday in the camper van. I don't get a great nights sleep in it & it's not the same showering on a campsite. I'm going to sleep well tonight.

Shoutymomma · 03/08/2024 23:43

Cherries.

My dog who is my personal therapist. She never fails to cheer me up!

That I'm in the Lake District with DM. She's in her 80s and has survived cancer and Covid/long Covid in the last couple of years.

An empty house, a good book, and a small dog snoring under the bed

Coastalcreeksider · 04/08/2024 09:06

My best friend coming round later today, haven't seen her for over a week so we'll have tea, sit in the garden - hopefully it will be warm enough - and spend most of the time laughing at something funny that's happened since we last met, there's always something we'll find amusing to laugh about.

We've been friends for 60 years.

Naimee87 · 04/08/2024 09:12

That my headphone charger cable was in my suitcase and a run by the sea is on the cards for this morning 💪🏻🫶🏻

I am thankful that the hardest decision I have to make at the moment is whether I have a bagel or a baked crossaint for my breakfast.

Whatineed · 04/08/2024 09:15

I'm on holiday, lying in bed on a houseboat. About to go and make coffee and sit on the deck in the glorious Italian sunshine to read books I never have time for at home.

I've worked my a**e off these past months, and the thought of this break has kept me going. I'm so thankful to be here.

NDornotND · 04/08/2024 09:18

The NHS. I am a couple of months post total knee replacement surgery and it's going well. I feel so grateful for the system we have in this country that allowed me to receive such excellent care and not have to worry about the cost. I know the NHS has many flaws and some things need to change - taking my elderly dad to A&E last year was literally hellish - but when it works as it should, it's a wonderful thing 😊

MaltipooMama · 04/08/2024 09:28

My beautiful baby boy! I looked at his little face at 6.30am this morning and just wanted to eat him! I then proceeded to pretend to do so (this is part of our morning ritual 😂)

braaaiiins · 04/08/2024 10:08

My lovely man is visiting this week 🥰. My kids are safe, happy, healthy and well fed. I have a lot to be grateful for but that's enough to list so i don't sound like i am bragging 😁
