I've just got a interview for hotel receptionist for travel lodge
Just wondering what software they use ?
Or what software receptionists use ?
Just to familiarise myself with it

I worked as a receptionist for an agency for a few years, which involced going to loads of different offices and therefore using lots of different systems. There didnt seem to be one software.
I'd imagine they wouldn't expect you to know their specific system beforehand and would train you up on it.

You'd be better off asking for people who work as Travel Lodge receptionists, Ive had quite a few jobs were there were office receptionists and it's not like there's one universal system but no one expects a new person to know how to use bespoke systems

What experience did you have op?

Im in retail but would like to be a receptionist.

Why dont you pop in/ring the travel lodge and ask some questions? Shows willing. Good luck with your interview 🤞

I wouldn't be too worried about software and computer systems, you'll get training and these things are usually easy to learn when you use them everyday.

What's more important in a Reception job is people skills - how will you deal with difficult customers, complaints, unusual requests.

You'll probably have to work shifts - days, early mornings, evenings and the night shift. Apparently working the night shift in a cheap hotel can involve knocking on doors asking young, drunk guests to keep the noise down, turn the TV/music down etc. How would you deal with that? Ask at your interview what their policy is and what would be expected.
