Help me get back perspective on my disability

I had a rubbish week due to stress of the job.
A comment by the pharmacist has got me down. Told me I should never get a taxi if collecting a prescriptions and be prepared to wait - it just reminded me and depressed me me of the disabilities that mean I can’t drive and others that tire me so I can’t walk but have also left me finding it hard/impossible to make friends to get lifts.

I normally walk down there but tired currently. No bus so had to be taxi. Went at a quiet time and no queue. I was just collecting an already made up prescription. I knew I’d wait as it’s chaotic shelves and shelves of boxes which seem randon. After 10 minutes of them searching I had to say if it wa longer I had to leave due to taxi. Then the comment (luckily they found the prescription so I don’t have to walk down there.

Unfortunately I’m not home enough to get online delivery for prescriptions and it’s now the only one in the area.

Can you help me get perspective of this very first world problem

I think pharmacies are really under pressure these days - from lack of staff, extra responsibilities and the fact nobody can get a GP appointment anyway.

I suspect the comment was born out of frustration they cannot keep up with the queues, hence advising you (or anyone collecting any prescription ) that having come by taxi and having a taxi waiting is perhaps not the best idea these days because they may have a long wait that's costly for you.
I really don't think it was meant unkindly or in relation to your disability.

I have to say our (excellent, very overworked) pharmacy you can generally queue at least 20 minutes- 45 minutes, so had I told them I had a taxi waiting (was it to gee them up?) I'm sure I'd have got a similar comment last time I was there.

Yep - the pharmacist was rude, but I know ours are right at the very edge of coping with workload. That and it being hard to get hold of stock makes it a grim job. Maybe meet half way with a sympathetic comment? Then find the smile crack through.
(Was in a queue a while back where a woman was kicking off because they couldn't instantly get hold of 3 months meds - she was flying out the next day and had left it until then to request the meds. Older people in the queue saying " I don't blame the NHS, but....". That's what they deal with on a day in day out situation. Then someone lke you goes in who is more genial and you're maybe their perceived safe place to grumble at?)

I definitely know they are stressed they are always busy.

i need to work on is a small comment like that not getting me so low. I’m so good at discounting anything positive about myself.

justn remind myself that I’m managing to keep my MH quite stable when in previous jobs I might well have resigned.
