Left cooked pizza out overnight, can it be eaten?

Left in the microwave, on a plate.

It's just a Margarita (but quite a posh / expensive one - we over ordered)

Hasn't been too warm here.

Will this be okay or shall I bin it?

I’d let the birds have a good breakfast

Sharrilanda · 03/08/2024 07:24

No. No. Absolutely not.
You will get raging food poisoning and feel rotten for days.

Send it to me and I will dispose of it safely for you OP... 😉

DancefloorAcrobatics · 03/08/2024 07:26

Dispose ot it by eating it!

Cold pizza 🍕 is a breakfast favourite in my house!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 03/08/2024 07:26

As it's been inside the microwave so no flies can get to it, I would eat it, but I don't think it will be as nice being heated the second time.

Willmafrockfit · 03/08/2024 07:27

yes i think so

OMGsamesame · 03/08/2024 07:29

I would eat it myself but wouldn't feed it to others

Crunchymum · 03/08/2024 07:30

Sadly it's not cold pizza. It's room temperature pizza. That's the problem 😮

We all had Noro a few weeks ago so I'm going to bin it as I don't want to chance making anyone ill again.

Well, you'd leave bread out overnight ( in breadbin, I'd assume).
Would you ditch some tomato sauce that's been at room temperature but covered overnight?,
I wouldnt)
And cheese is left out ( and matured to ripen) as a normal thing, and matured to go mouldy).
There is nothing in the pizza that's going to make you ill.
Eat and enjoy it.

Smittenkitchen · 03/08/2024 07:37

Very unlikely to do any harm

KirstenBlest · 03/08/2024 07:38

@Oneearringlost , bread and pizza don't really compare.

Twinklefloss · 03/08/2024 07:39

You’ve said you’ve all recently had noro so I think you’ve made the right call to bin it. It’ll be a while until your gut flora is back to full strength.

I guess my point is, that there's nothing in the pizza that going to make anyone ill because of a few hours out of the fridge. ( Different if there was meat on it, for instance.

Sprinkle water over the crust and reheat it in the oven.

Enjoy your pizza for breakfast, I’m so jealous!

Leavingonaeasyjetplane · 03/08/2024 07:45

It would be rude not to in this house.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 03/08/2024 08:10

Depends how hung over you are 😂. No seriously, it’ll be fine!

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 03/08/2024 08:12

It will be fine!

velvetcoat · 03/08/2024 08:13

Can you not do this??? I've done this loads of times, never once been ill.

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

if you heat it in a frying pan it's great. I do the topping side first until it's as hot & melty as possible then flip over to the base just until it's hot.

i don't eat pizza anymore as I have to severely restrict my carbs, but I'm salivating at the thought!

@Crunchymum if it hasn't been warm where you are I probably would have, but it was 18° here overnight & I wouldn't. No matter how expensive it was. It's not worth it to me to take the risk of food poisoning. You've already paid for it, it's no difference if you eat it or throw it, you can have other food for breakfast, that you also already have in.

its a shame, but not worth risking food poisoning over.

sunsetsandboardwalks · 03/08/2024 08:27

Of course it's fine - I've been eating leftover, room temperature pizza with all kinds of toppings on it for years Grin

Doggymummar · 03/08/2024 08:27

Of course you can eat it!

Frenchsplit · 03/08/2024 08:27

Absolutely fine. Done this a million times

AgentProvocateur · 03/08/2024 08:30

I always leave some out in the box overnight to eat for breakfast so it’s not fridge cold. I’m still alive.

Royalshyness · 03/08/2024 08:31

I don’t know if I would because you’ve been sick already but if you heat it back up to a really high temp it would be worth trying (best out of air fryer for reheat)

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 03/08/2024 08:38

Have you never been a student OP? 😁

And anything left out overnight is fair game in this house - pizza, curry, Chinese, last night's tea... waste not, want not!
