Can I write to someone in the House of Commons to praise my MP?

First off, I’ve tried googling but can only find information on writing to my MP. I have emailed her 3 times and received personal responses each time. The first 2 she couldn’t do anything about as such because she’s Labour and the Conservatives were in power but she wrote me a detailed response about what she’d already tried to do about the issues. This time the issue is with our Police and she has emailed me back within 2 days and emailed the Police to find out what is happening. She’s brilliant! She’s also extremely active in the community and is always out and about visiting local groups, schools etc. I’d like to write a letter to someone higher up to tell them how fantastic she is if that’s possible?

You could address it to the Chief Whip of the Labour Party, Alan Campbell. It would be nice though to write a letter of thanks to the MP themselves - I’m sure they’d really appreciate it.

Thank you I will do that. I always reply with my thanks to her but I’d also like her “boss” to know how fab she is!

Just be aware it may well be an excellent member of her team who is doing a lot of the grunt work. I deal with MP queries as part of my job and whilst it's the MPs name on the correspondence we know full well its the absolute workhorse assistant in the office who is the one doing the emailing and and the chasing. The MP is great and has picked a great team to support them but they are the 'figurehead' representative in Parliament and its the office staff who make them great constituency MPs

The best thing you can do is send a thank you to the office and also if you are happy to go public a letter to your local paper, which is like leaving a good review.

@Iudncuewbccgrcb I did consider that but after having a horrible Conservative MP in our last constituency, who I don’t think even knew where his constituency was, any reply is appreciated!

@bergamotorange I think I’d have to wait until after the police case is dealt with to go to the papers although I think the better public interest story would be the shockingly shit way the police have(n’t) dealt with DH’s very serious assault.

@Titouenk she isn’t new, she’s been the MP for our constituency for years!

She works for you so there's no need to thank someone else. The best thing you can do is send a thank you note to her office (her team probably handled your requests), speak positively about her to other people in the area, vote for her again and encourage others to do the same.
