We are looking after a very active 3 and a half year old on Sunday in London. Any theatre/museum/activity suggestions very welcome .

London Transport Museum is great for small kids

We liked National Maritime Museum in Greenwich at that age. It’s not usually busy, do DS could have a go on the interactive bits, got lots of space and is close to green space. The restaurants and food vendors are quite chilled. He also preferred using the DLR to the tube as it was less packed.

Princess of Wales Memorial Park in Kensington gardens is amazing (Peter Pan theme playground and sensory playground) at that age. You also have the fountain to paddle in, pedaloes and ducks/parakeets to feed.

The Garden at the science museum is also good (the area for 3-5 year olds in the basement) plus there are other bits in the museum that are great at that age (space stuff, aeroplanes, Wonderlab, the old children’s section) but don’t expect them to hold his/her attention for too long! Ditto the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum next door. They will love them for 5 mins! 😂

The museums are walking distance from the Princess of Wales Playground if you have a buggy or they don’t moan about walking…

The London Transport Museum

Take the canal boat to the zoo

I have heard good things about the optical illusion museum at Oxford Circus

Agree with this and it's situated in Greenwich park and right by the playground which is pretty big

I'd get out with a 3.5 year old if possible.

Diana Playground or the Diana fountain. Battersea Park. Holland Park. Victoria Park. Coram Fields.

If you want to see a show there is loads on for that age including The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Zog and The Gruffalo.
