Can anyone do this math? My brain is fried.

Just started a new job on the 8th July. Would like to TTC but would need or like to have full maternity from my work. The offer full maternity for those who have a full years service 15 weeks before expected date of child birth. With this in mind when could I start
TTC? (I know baby could be born early etc).

Sorry for the maths question, they offer 4 months full pay and 5 months half so I’d like to have that rather than SMP if I can.

15 weeks after 8th July is October 21st, 40 weeks before 21st October is 15th January. 15th January is the earliest date, theoretically! In reality I would give yourself at least a month beyond that as pregnancy dates are taken from the date of your last period, so you need to have your period start after the mid Jan date and then conceive.
I think with help from Google!

I’m getting 13 January 2025 with a different method, but I’m tired and not double-checking. Round about the middle of January is good enough I think.
As Daffyyellow says wait for the period after that and then try to conceive.

Thank you! Will hold off until February :-)

Oh, I was getting April! Haha. Mind you I'm rounding up.
15 weeks before due date is 25 weeks which is basically six months.
You need to be no more than three months pregnant on 8 July next year, so start TTC three months before that at most equals April.

How is everyone getting January?

Also very roughly getting January

OP needs to be no more than 25 weeks pregnant on her first anniversary in the job (ie 40 weeks pregnancy minus the 15 weeks before due date needed to qualify, as per her first post)

To be less than 25 weeks pregnant on July 8th she must have conceived after her mid-January period, whenever that falls.

Oh I didn't understand the question properly I think!
