Macey78 · 30/07/2024 21:12

We are off to the Republic of Ireland for a weeks holiday.

Any recommendations of things to bring back, meaning when people go to France they bring back certain things from the chemist.

Anything worth bringing back, please let me know

Second Irish dairy milk, they’ve not ruined it. Also Taytos but get them in NI if you visit as they are much cheaper

ÚlldemoShúl · 30/07/2024 21:20

Tayto, proper dairy milk, superquinn sausages

There is very little in Ireland you cannot get in the UK. Tayto crisps are probably the main thing you could try there. Although I prefer the naicer Irish crisps like Keoghs or O'Donnells. You could look in the Irish supermarkets ( SuperValu or Dunnes) and see if anything jumps out at you. In terms of clothing there's all the same high street brands. You could look at Carrig Donn or Dunnes as I dont think they have much presence in the UK. You might find some nice things in the Kilkenny Shop or Avoca depending on what you are looking for.
I hope you have a lovely time. Which part are you going to?

cupcaske123 · 30/07/2024 21:38

Barry's tea, soda bread, olde Irish marmalade, barmbrack, local cheese.

Evanna13 · 30/07/2024 21:39

Oh and the dairy milk whole nut is delicious, especially with a cup of tea.

Exactfare · 30/07/2024 21:41

custardlover · 30/07/2024 21:55

Connemara marble coasters, an Aran sweater, a claddagh ring, all the biscuits, brack... at least that's what would be on my list!

Doobydoo · 30/07/2024 21:59

Cidona!

rooinspace · 30/07/2024 21:59

West Coast Cooler is a cheap but nice wine spritzer. A rite of passage in NI. I’d definitely recommend that to add to the bread, homemade scones, tayto, dairy milk and Conakilty black pudding

Callmejudith · 30/07/2024 22:02

PJs from Dunnes

StSwithinsDay · 30/07/2024 22:03

Five Farms Irish cream liqueur. Stocked in Marks and Spencers. A billion times nicer than Baileys.

user1471465748 · 30/07/2024 22:05

Love Rose West Coast Cooler! Loads of lovely artisan Irish chocolate companies much nicer than basic Cadbury. Some great Irish cheeses, meats, chutneys, Aldi or supervalu or dunnes butcher sausages. Irish bread. Yes Tayto or keoghs crisps. Keoghs honey and salt popcorn is divine.

Football Special and Club Orange. Also red lemonade.

user1471466920 · 30/07/2024 22:06

And Galtee cheese was always popular with my mum and aunts.

longdistanceclaraclara · 30/07/2024 22:09
