Beat the heat - do cooling pillows work?

Has anyone tried a cooling pillow which works?
Am pondering a simba hybrid but at £100 they are ridiculously expensive so I would want to be certain it was worth it or if there are cheaper but equally good alternatives.
Amazon reviews are v good but I'm never confident how genuine these are.

They work for a short shout but nothing amazing , fill a hot water bottle with cold water (fridge or freeze it) works just as well ! ( This came from extended family who live in Africa !)

*short amount of time

Save your money.

Run a tea towel under cold water, wring it out and drape across the back of your neck and shoulders and bring the ends to the front.

I got one. As already said, it works for a little while. I'd wake up and it wasn't cool.
Given it to DP.
I'm using a cotton with wool natural fibres pillow. It's not cold but it keeps a coolish temperature throughout the night.

I've got two dog cooling mats from B&M, approx 12" sq, £5 each.
I lay them on the pillow, when one side gets warm I flip it over then swap to the spare one.
They're fab

Put a freezer block under your pillow and turn the pillow over when it gets warm

I've been using the dog cooling mats for my feet. Since buying them last year my feet haven't become swollen in the heat like they used to and I've actually been sleeping at night. If my feet are hot then I'm hot, which is why I try and cool my feet first.

Those cooling towels that MN had a moment over about 3 years ago are pretty good. Cold water on it, wring it out and I lay mine across my chest and neck - I'm a back sleeper. Turn it over if it gets warm.
About £8 for 4 on amazon

Haggisfish3 · 30/07/2024 23:24

I bought these and they are really good actually. Better than a cotton towel soaked in water. Sukeen Cooling Towel(40"x12")... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0882PRPD1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I’ve also got a dog cooling mat from b m In the shape of a massive lolly AND I’ve got a cooling blanket (for people) which is really good.
