All I’ve seen is footage of a man on the floor and Tommy Robinson is walking past. Most of you must have some other footage in order to be so sure of what happened?

I don't think the whole event was captured but he said that someone came at him which was a mistake as he'll defend himself. If he was defending himself and there were witnesses, I'm not sure why he left the scene. He didn't even check to see if the man was breathing.

Given we know the level of spittle flecked hate Nigel Farage can adopt when talking about people with a tan, his "criticism" hardly seemed to match.

Anyway, I am disappointed that Farage has come out backing pornographers and seems upset by laws to safeguard children. Makes me wonder what he's really up to.

@Abhannmor why is it tricky for Farage? They've been criticising each other heavily for ages.

He has. When Farage makes incendiary speeches about migrants he likes to avoid blame for the subsequent violence. Rather as the Rev Ian Paisley like to draw a sharp distinction between himself and people who stuffed petrol soaked rags through their neighbours letter boxes. But he wasn't entirely successful in this attempt.

Previous far right leaders , like Martin Webster and Nick Griffin , failed to get elected as they were too closely identified in the public mind with ' P*ki bashing ' thugs and football hooligans. Likewise Farage can't afford to be linked with such people. But he still needs the votes of people who have no such reservations....

I'm sure Farage left UKIP because they brought Robinson in as a consultant. Farage is rarely blatant, he uses dog whistle tactics, therefore he doesn't want to be associated with people like Robinson. It's strange because he doesn't mind Tate (perhaps because of his popularity with young men), Enoch Powel, Trump or Putin. He flirted with Musk until Musk turned on him and Musk is supporting far right parties like the AfD.
