Limbo health monitoring - anyone tried it?

I have ads on my various timelines for Limbo Health Monitoring where you wear a blood glucose monitor and it monitors what you're eating and points out what is spiking your blood sugar. I'm very tempted but I'd really be interested to know if anyone has tried it and what they thought of it?

It seems like a good idea but it's pricey at nearly £300 and then a possible ongoing cost so I don't want to be taken in if it's just snake oil.

Why do you need to do it? What are you hoping will be the benefit to you?

I am T2 diabetic and I know that I can control it via what I eat. I have done the Fast 800 previously and brought my diabetes into remission but I haven't been able to keep it down unless I only stick to the very low calorie that Fast 800 offers, which isn't massively sustainable long-term.

I thought this might help me to identify what increases my blood sugars the most so that I can try to manage food longer term and with more food choices to work with.

Well that makes sense. Maybe speak to your GP and see what they think.

Has anyone who has tried this got any thoughts to share, please?

I'd be wary of the actual benefits to be honest. I think you'd be better off going back to GP for referral to diabetes nutrition team for discussion first. And have you looked at any diabetes organisations to see what they think about these kinds of monitors for T2?

Are you losing weight on your diet? Has that had an impact on your blood sugar? With 3st to lose, would one of the weightloss injections be suitable?

(My perspective: diagnosed T2 in January, have now lost 2st. Due blood test shortly, hoping to see significant impact on blood sugar. Need to lose at least another stone, ideally 2, but just seeing how it goes.)

Thanks. I've just looked on Amazon and there's basically the same thing on there for £50. Might try that first!

I've been doing it 3 weeks now. I've done the Low Carb boot camp on here, and it's very similar.

They are clear to distinguish it from DM care, it's sold as a type of scientific low carb - not DM management.

They have a few 'rules'. Food is to be 'carb conscious', 'protein positive' and 'nutrient dense' - they want healthy natural food. There's an App and you can follow your limbo line in real time. You post your food drinks and exercises. You get to see the things that make your line go up or down.
I've lost a few lbs on it, but I had a total blow out this evening( with a box of Celebrations 😋) but I'll get back on it tomorrow.
I originally filled out the form, and left it a few days, maybe 2-3, and got an email with a reduced price. I also can give you a code, to start. I think I paid E220.

I just re-read the LC boot camp rules on here, and it is similar.

@AnotherNew01 thanks, that's really helpful to know. Are you glad that you've done it? Have you learned anything new from it?

AnotherNew01 · 29/07/2024 16:11

I'm glad I'm on it. I will continue. LC eating suits me well once I get into it. But I'm not great about organising food, so I can get into a rut. I do miss bread.

I did Boot camp on here once and lost 10lbs which stayed off for years. Since then I've never been able to stick with BC, and with menopause that 10lbs has crept bAck on.

AnotherNew01 · 29/07/2024 16:13

I've learned that white bread is the equivalent of a square of chocolate for me!

1questionfromme · 29/07/2024 18:24

Thanks. Thats good to hear that it's working for you. I suspect I would have the same response to bread Grin
