Setting up an ironing business.....

Hey all,

I'm thinking of setting up an ironing business. I'm pretty certain on my prices etc, can set up a website and so on.

But for those that also do this, what else do I need? Hangers? Covers? Large laundry bags?

Just looking out for things I might not have thought of

Insurance

I was just about to say insurance.

It's vital if you're going to be self-employed.

Yep definitely insurance too. Already got some quotes

I just wrote out a list and it's been removed for some reason 😪

I use an ironing business, they pick up a basket and I provide the hangers. They return it all on those hangers and either I can be home or they can leave it on a rack.

Do they charge per item or by the hour?

I'm thinking per item is best

Oh that's annoying! Thank you for taking the time

I used to do this and customers provided their own hangers and dropped off ironing in their own bags.

I had an ironing lady. We provided the hangers and my then husband-shirts on said hangers.

When she came to collect , She weighed the bundle with one of those portable scales you might use for airport travel and charged accordingly it was much quicker than standing and counting at the door.
