Would you live somewhere with these neighbours?

Yes, that place is absolutely glorious.

Juliet194 · 26/07/2024 22:18

Yep, looks idyllic.

No nightmare neighbours in easy hearing distance would be a massive tick for me.

Trinity65 · 26/07/2024 22:27

I would live there, its lovely

AthenaBasil · 26/07/2024 22:32

It looks sweet although I’m not sure if I’d like it. I’m easily spooked.

leeverarch · 26/07/2024 22:47

I love it, and that church is absolutely amazing. The neighbours wouldn't bother me at all - I'd probably stand there and chat to them over the fence.

BlimminCat · 26/07/2024 21:18

I couldn’t. I find graveyards peaceful to visit in the daytime, but it’s night time that would bother me. I’d keep expecting to see faces at the window etc.

Yeah, this.
I have a very overactive imagination!

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 26/07/2024 22:53

It wouldn't bother me but I would definitely be going overboard for Halloween.

MaryasBible · 26/07/2024 22:53

Absolutely fucking not. I’ve just jumped because the house is having its creaky cool down 30 minutes and DP is snoozing… right next to me.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/07/2024 22:55

I used to live next to a church and grave yard when I was a teenager/up until I moved out. It didn’t bother me at all. It was a bit weird when we came home and there was a burial going on just the other side of the low wall though.

Oldfatandfrumpy · 26/07/2024 22:55

I would genuinely have no issue with a graveyard next door

Yogaandchocolate · 26/07/2024 22:58

The downstairs bathroom would bother me more than the graveyard.

FrenchFancie · 26/07/2024 23:05

Oh yes! Would have to check about bell ringing though, church bells can be very very loud!!!

FrenchFancie · 26/07/2024 23:07

But you might want to be careful not to hold a BBQ if a burial was going on…. That could be a tad awkward.

sunsetsandboardwalks · 26/07/2024 23:08

Wouldn't bother me but then I lived above a funeral parlour and morgue for several years!

FattipuffToThinnifer · 26/07/2024 23:35

TheHuntSyndicate · 26/07/2024 21:37

The graves don't bother me but the HIDEOUS conifers so!

See picture 19!

I hate them. They are an absolute eyesore.

They’re yews, aren’t they? Very traditional around a church and graveyard!

I love the house; I’ve lived next to a churchyard before and it didn’t spook me at all

NeverMindTheBackProblems · 26/07/2024 23:43

Lovely house but I couldn't, I'm too easily spooked.

IneedAbiggerWindchime · 26/07/2024 23:45

Wouldn't bother me at all. What a lovely house. So much character and charm. I could totally see myself living there.

Sethera · 27/07/2024 00:27

I'd enjoy being by a graveyard - I find them peaceful places, particularly when the graves are old and weathered, giving a sense of perspective on whatever I might be fretting about - a reminder that in 100 years' time neither I nor my worries will be of any consequence at all.

However, if I were to pay £300k for a 2-bed cottage, with the additional hassle of it being listed, I would want beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork and a twisty staircase to bang my head on - so it's a 'no' from me because the interior hasn't enough character.

wobblyweasel · 27/07/2024 02:16

I'd love to live there

GCAcademic · 27/07/2024 02:26

Infinitely preferable to some of the neighbours I’ve had.
