So my sweet/cold drink vending machine at work has been slowing creeping up in price over the past few weeks, chocolate bars have now hit £1 each..haribo bags are £1.40 and 330ml cans are £1.
Should also add that my company provides tea, coffee, milk and sugar for free!!
I'm interested to hear what your machines at your companies are charging? And how are the rates for Deli Cafes at your place if you have one.☕

£1 for a can? Cheap. It's £2 at my work place.
Bring stuff from home.

We don't have vending machines. There are shops nearby, and we have free coffee, lots of different types of tea, and biscuits.

BleachedJumper · 25/07/2024 19:36

My workplace took the vending machines away on the floors (multi floor building) when they had a new caterer take over the on site cafe.

So now there’s no vending machines, only the cafe shop where a 500ml bottle of Diet Coke is £3.10.

caused havoc!

A can of coke from a supermarket it a pound or sometimes more. So that doesn't sound that bad. The vending machine at my old work used to have crisps and chocolate that were two years out of date. Obviously you couldn't check until it came out.
The cafe in one hospital charged me nearly 9 quid for two cappuccinos, another one a week later, same thing in the Starbucks for under a fiver? Very weird...

I work at a hospital our cans of drink are now £1.85 and a coffee £4.25

We don't even get free tea or coffee at work! The only free item available is long life milk.

FatOaf · 25/07/2024 20:07

My brother (private-sector senior manager) was astounded that we don't get free tea & coffee at work (university). Then I asked him how he'd feel about students' tuition fees being spent on tea & coffee for staff, and he changed his mind.

Our vending machines are commercial rates, so less than a pound for anything would be unimaginable.

Don’t have vending machines or a cafe. 😂 We have instant coffee and tea bags. Sometimes there might be milk. For awhile the kitchen was closed because people were getting electric shocks from the tap and another time because cockroaches were literally crawling out of the tap (not the same day, or one problem might have sorted the other!). I work for one of the most expensive Russell Group universities.
