why is it juvenile exactly? I mean it's a saying I guess not used so much now but its meaning is keep your nose out so?

Man, this thread turned into an unrelated bun fight FAST!!

How do I snitch to mumsnet?!

yes, I reported a theft at work once. Years ago I had the petty cash tin in my desk (maybe £100/£200 in there) for office tea/coffee/milk, paying window cleaner etc. We all knew where key was kept and cash kept going missing. Had to tell my boss in case they accused me! I knew the lady who was doing it as she took loads on a day when it was just me and her in the office and I checked the amount before going on my lunch break. There was about £15 left when I got back and checked it again.

Turned out she had been asking clients for money once she thought they were friends, and she also reported various work items stolen from her car but hadn’t told the police (?!). Boss thought she had sold them. All quite sad really as we assumed she was in a bad way financially to do such things.

I snitch all the time. Last week I told the bus driver that a boy sitting upstairs was being bullied by the kids he was with. Not much she could do about it, I just wanted someone to keep an eye out for the lad.

I've reported numerous incidents of bad driving with dashcam evidence. Some don't result in anything, others have resulted in convictions for dangerous driving or drivers being sent on "educational courses". I'm not sorry.

Because in most cases as adults they would not grass someone up just for the sake of it as in serious concerns for the welfare of children or vulnerable adults and such like.

You just know you’re one of those people that are draining.

It’s just a lighthearted thread, I’m not talking about safeguarding issues. I’m talking about telling on a colleague who came in late or the waitress that was rude to you.

No need to get your bloomers in a twist.

I reported my neighbour for making major changes to their house without planning permission (in a conservation area). Not sorry.
