But I'm doing it because I've name changed and I'm curious

So a black woman has been charged for referring to a footballer as the n word to another black woman on twitter, why has she been charged? I would completely understand and agree if this was a white oerson using that word but she is also black. How does it work does anyone know ? I thought it was acceptable if you're of the same race (sorry for my blatant ignorance im genuinely curious)

It’s not a word I care to see or hear, so even if both women and the man they were referring to were okay with it I still think it should be censored. If they choose to say it in private that’s another matter.

It'd an absolutely vile term. People use it to be funny or controversial but at the root of those effects are the fact it's tied to oppressing people based on race. It's not on, from anyone.

Thirty years ago, if a heterosexual person used the word queer, would it have been homophobic? If a gay person had said it, would it have been homophobic?

Yes, queer was not an acceptable term for anyone.

It’s all made up as they go along, and normally by a white person trying to make the world a better place.

it’s a racial slur if you are intending to use the persons race against them in a derogatory way, if there’s no racial element (ie both people are of the same race/ethnicity/colour) is it still racism?

I don’t know, it’s way more complex than my brain can comprehend.

Not sure if this is the UK but can’t see it going to court / trial if it is. Being arrested versus being prosecuted are different things
