Does it matter if I don't get a teacher gift

I normally get the kids a gift for their teacher . Normally a keyring or a little plaque with thank you type wording.

I have had so much on my mind that did not get round to ordering anything. I meant I could pop in a shop and pick up chocolate or something. But i can't be arsed and would they really be that bothered

No. If your DC write a personal note of thanks to their teachers/TAs I’m sure that would be enjoyed more than a token gift.

I didn't get my child's nursery teacher anything. (She has another year there anyway!) I don't think teachers expect anything. If you've had a lot going on, I really wouldn't worry about it. Can you maybe just grab a quick card or something just to squiggle a thank you? If not, I really wouldn't worry! Xxx

It's fine. Anyway, if it's an obligatory thank you, is it really gratitude?

I very much doubt it. My kids’ teachers have confided over the years that thank you messages are always nice but they don’t want a load of tat.
