Has anyone been on this for anxiety type problems? Any luck with it? TIA

Definitely causes weight gain, brilliant for sleep but I've found Olanzapine works much better to curb my anxiety

Awful stuff, in my experience. Took it for anxiety and to help me sleep. It didn't help either problem and made my brain feel foggy.
It might work for you though. Lots of people have found it helpful. Worth a shot maybe?

Any experiences of coming off it? I've read it's horrendous to come off hence why people stay on it!

Thanks all, this is very helpful.

At the moment, the weight gain would be a positive for me, as anxiety is making it so hard to eat.

@Frosty1000 I also don't want an SSRI for various reasons. Hence looking into this....

Have you ever tried Gabapentin? Anxiety is an off label use for it, as it is primarily for nerve pain, but it is pretty commonly prescribed for anxiety. Helps with sleep too.

I have put weight on but pretty sure that was due to drinking, as I’ve actually lost over 2 stone since quitting. Mirtazapine gives me strange vivid dreams (not nightmares) & I often feel very drowsy in the mornings but it’s wonderful to actually sleep right through most nights. Some of that could be down to no booze too. I’m definitely less anxious & don’t have such low moods. Been on it since November. My GP was vague when I asked how long I should keep on taking it but I’m only on 15mg nightly.

I also get vivid dreams since bring on mirtazapine. Bit disconcerting tbh but not nightmares.

I hated it. And yeah, it does causes weight gain. I think my GP gave me it BC I had anorexia as well as anxiety. But it didn't work for me at all. Gave me headaches.
