Pram that has the highest cot/seat or can be adapted

Looking for the pram that’s the highest or can be adapted so everything sits higher. Been recommended a double pram as the top cot sits higher and then have an empty frame, but that looks a bit wrong and leaves a larger frame than needed. Used to like the stokke but don’t like how you have to feed baby/toddler around the central pole. And they stopped their other one. Help!

We had the upper baby vista but also purchased the “riser” attachments that would be used when you converted it to a double. It was super duper - nice and high and didn’t look odd at all.

Oh thanks will have a look at that, I think that’s what I’m looking for.

Second @Todaypicard suggestion. We have the uppababy vista which sits quite high anyway but if you add the upper adapters it would be even higher. The only thing is that using the upper adapters without anything on the bottom might make it a bit top heavy so you might need to consider if it needs any weight distribution adaptations if you needed to use it like that on a permanent basis.

We had absolutely no issue with weight or distribution - solid as a rock and we used it like that permanently for almost 4 years

If you want second hand, I’m currently preparing to sell the system 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks, I did wonder if it would topple with no other weight in it! Is the foot rest for the toddler seat adjustable or a step or just dangle down?

Im sure someone will snap yours off you. I’m in the terrible trap of wanting to buy everything new after waiting a decade to get this far!

The seat is nice - big roomy and secure. It is adjustable up and down (but not longer if that makes sense). It has a bit that acts like a step at the bottom they can rest feet on. When my daughter got older I removed the risers so she could climb in herself. Also really recommend a sheepskin liner/footmuff. We had one from felhoff. About £150 but worth every penny

Any other suggestions or shops that are good to go and see a range of options?

Or somewhere with a good comparison chart of heights and lengths. I’, finding it difficult to find dimensions as a lot just give a range, and I want to know the dimensions between wheels etc

A big John Lewis and a Mamas and Papas will have lots on display. You can usually book appointments to talk it through in store with someone.

I was also going to suggest the Uppababy vista. I have mine on the upper adaptors all the time, even when the lower seat isn’t on the pram, as I like him being higher up. Also means I can chuck more stuff in the basket 🙂

Think there’s a place called whitstanleys pram world that has them all on display to try? We went there and the uppababy was SO much more stable than some of the cheap Cossatos etc.

mama and papas shop will only have their brand.
definitely worth travelling even if it’s a couple of hours, to try them out. They put weight in them and let you walk around with them and up and down steps etc.

the uppababy is hands down the best

Mamas and Papas dont only have their brand. We went to the Mamas and Papas on Purley Way in Croydon. We were able to test Bugaboo, Uppababy, iCandy, Oyster, their own brand and a couple of others i think? Maybe a silver cross? We bought our Uppababy from there.

Oh I apologise I didn’t realise that. My mistake.

TVRose · 30/07/2024 20:44

Thanks all, going to have to just have a look. And work out which ones are going to be the most stable when used singly in double mode. Hard to see on the internet for some of them
