Is this a faint line on a COVID test?

Settle a debate for us - thanks! It’s hard to take an accurate picture of it so they have drawn some orange dots where they think the line starts and ends. Symptoms are, feeling very rough very quickly, sneezing, watering eyes, lethargy & tingling sensation in hands.

Is this a faint line on a COVID test?

Can't see anything.

Is there an important reason why they need to know?

Mrsjayy · 21/07/2024 16:15

I can't see a line re test tomorrow seeif it I'd definite positive..

Laundryagain · 21/07/2024 16:16

Covid? Really? You have a cold/flu. Hope you feel better soon - genuinely - but I can’t believe people are still testing and getting her up about it.
…or perhaps I live in a bubble…

  1. it’s not my test
  2. you have absolutely NO idea why someone might need to test. Work? Caring responsibilities? Vulnerable themselves?

Absolutely zero point in clicking on this thread if all you’re going to do is pass judgement.

It's embarrassing, but they are so far gone, its definitely mass psychosis or Mass hysteria whichever you like to use. A friends husband just passed away from aggressive cancer, very fast too. He was fine in April. And here are so many things out there to be more concerned about, and people are still testing for this? By the way, my coca cola once tested positive. I isolated the glass and everyone was fine. Phew

Again, no need for it. And comparing it to that is ridiculous. It’s astounding how little empathy some people have, simply scroll past if you don’t want to answer the question.

I honestly don’t mean to sound cruel or to lack empathy… but the idea of people still testing seems absurd to me… that is why I clicked on the link… I mean is the Covid that’s even around still dangerous? Obviously I’m naive to it all and I hate to come across as bitchy about it but i’m very skeptical about it all and upset with the lies we were fed over the whole pandemic, not to mention the judgement and ill feeling directed at anyone who dare to question the “authorities” (who got so much wrong and spread so much fear) or rejected the untested (largely useless and in many cases fatally dangerous) vaccine.

On a lighter note. I’m glad to hear the coke made it.

Smidgers · 21/07/2024 16:48

I can’t see anything on the test @balloonbubble Ignore the first few comments, these are clearly people who have absolutely no concept as to why some people have to test, it’s very ignorant imo.

Aren't you lucky you don't need to get het up about it?

Looks negative OP but my test took 4 or 5 days to show up.

Footballwidow24 · 21/07/2024 16:49

OP ignore the people trying to put you down. I've had covid recently and it was important to me to know I was negative before visiting a friend - that's just good manners. I don't see a line on your test though.

Having spent the last 3 weeks in and out of hospital I can tell you COVIDi is very much still something to be avoided, lots of people isolated in single rooms, Doctors amd nurse with masks and children under 13 not allowed to visit.

AutumnCrow · 21/07/2024 16:52

Why do I still test? Because I'm immune-suppressed and the rules set by government/NHS require me to test positive for X days before I can access the required anti-virals and/or anti-antibiotics.

Not my rules.

Mrsjayy · 21/07/2024 16:52

My step dad is immune suppressed and if he has covid he needs anti virals so yes people do still need to test as Covid can still make people ill, but as long as pp can reply with sarcasm .to make them feel big and clever eh.

Grazianoscubanheel · 21/07/2024 16:53

Theres either a line or there isnt. There's clearly sod all there!!!

Scarletttulips · 21/07/2024 16:54

Masks are back at our NHS settings - wards are full and one hospital closed so staff are all at the other.

Worth knowing if you work somewhere like a care home.

I had covid last week. It's stll around.

Movinghouseatlast · 21/07/2024 17:03

People test because they wany to know what's wrong with them. I don't know why that's difficult to comprehend.

I was in bed for 6 weeks with Covid late last year. Knowing it was Covid helped me to know what I was dealing with. I'm fit and healthy and had I not known it was Covid I would have been worried.

Grmumpy · 21/07/2024 17:05

The person should test again a day later.i tested negative day one positive day 2.

Tel12 · 21/07/2024 17:08

Can't really see anything, but test again tomorrow. I was negative until I wasn't and there was no doubt then.

You do live in a bubble and are extremely ignorant. People are still becoming extremely ill and dying of covid, especially in the vulnerable groups. My mother is 86 and has had all the vaccinations offered every spring and autumn, I have got symptoms which could be a cold or covid, so did a test today to find out to see if it's safe to visit her.
Previously fit and healthy 50 year old family member now has long term heart issues which doctors think are related to long covid, that doesn't happen with a cold.
I wish more people were less selfish and still tested and isolated instead of spreading it everywhere.

50shadedofmagnolia · 21/07/2024 17:08

I can't see a line
But you are absolutely right nobody knows why people are testing still.
My mums passed away now but she was very vulnerable with severe breathing problems and if she was still here and I was feeling the symptoms I would still absolutely test so I wouldn't pass it on !
I'd never sleep at night if I infected someone vulnerable and they passed.

Knittedfairies2 · 21/07/2024 17:30

I can't see a line OP, but perhaps you could test again in a day or two. I hope whoever took the test feels better soon.
I had Covid a few weeks ago, and I tested because I have friends who are vulnerable and would have felt bad if I had infected them.
