Trampoline - how big?

I'm just wondering what size trampolines people have?

We've had a 6ft one (with net of course) for several years. We bought it when we had a smaller garden, but now the garden is plenty big enough and the children are looking a bit big on it so it's time for an upgrade.

I'm thinking 10ft. Does anyone have one and can you tell me if that would be ok for a 5/6 year old and a couple of friends? I know it's all relative really, but opinions would be great 😊 I could get a 12ft, or any size really but let's face it they are an eyesore so I'm trying to balance that against the fun they provide!

We have a 10ft one and it is much bigger than I imagined! More than big enough for my 5 and 7yr old and 2 friends.

We had a 10ft TP one. Went with that as it had a higher weight limit than some we looked at. Figured if we're going to have something taking up that much space it might as well be something DH and I could also use 😂

We had a strict one person jumping at a time, but felt plenty big enough for an adult.

Thanks both! I think the 10ft will be fine. I imagine the sheer size difference from the 6ft one will make DC very happy, and I can't imagine increasing it to 12ft would any difference there, but it's hard to imagine them in situ. I've also realised how much taller they get as they get wider, which will look lovely I'm sure 🥴

I say DC will be happy... I was browsing and found a two tier(!) trampoline which looks like great fun but great danger, and the 5yr old chose that moment to look over my shoulder... Firm no on that one, but I admit I would like a go myself!

We have a 10ft one but a strict one child at a time rule.

The bigger it is the more bounce it has so more potential for injury. At that size be much more careful of multiple kids on it at once.

A bigger one gives you more height, but them there is more give when you land, and it's generally the landing that is the problem! we always had big 16' ones with a net. They are such great fun from about 18 months to adulthood.so with 4 kkids that's about 40 years use, and only one broken finger.

Thanks all 😊 I think the "strictly one child at a time" Vs "massive trampoline and let em at it" is a tricky dilemma and one I'm considering too! Currently, the 6ft is too small for more than one, although I have allowed a sensible adult/teen on to handhold a tiny one because they obviously don't jump in that scenario. Or it seemed ok to have two closely supervised toddlers on there.

What I don't want is to have a big tempting trampoline then not allow any fun on it. BUT, that's got to be balanced against allowing a free for all. I want one big enough to feel like it's ok for a small 5yr old to bounce with a friend or gently with a teen sibling, the amount fun they get from that has got to be worth the risk and I'm sure most people in real life would see me as excessively mean not to allow it! And I'm fairly risk averse with these things, I've avoided the fast track to a&e trampoline parks like the plague all of the childhood years so far. If the teen wants to go for it on the new one then they're on it on their own!
