11 yo mother and son activities

Can anyone think of or recommend some (not too pricey) weekend activities for me and my son to do together? We are not particularly good at anything! But we like being creative and / or doing something physical.

we live in London and don’t have a car so biking/ hiking/ long walks etc is not really an easy option. In the past we’ve enjoyed pottery, a choir, and climbing.

I’d love to find something we could go to regularly, but a lot of things for kids are for younger ages, and a lot of things for adults won’t let him come.

any recommendations?

Geocaching, board games (there's a very cool board game cafe near Waterloo), craft (classes or YouTube), learning to cook new cuisines together, treasure trails from treasure trails.com, cult cinema at Prince Charles Cinema. It's a great age for mum and son!

Ooh amazing ideas, thank you! I love the idea of a board game cafe

There's loads of board game cafes around.
Some you can join a session to play with other people and learn new games (and make new friends).

Or Warhammer.
They have shops where you go and design worlds and paint figures etc.

Yes. Each week cook together or for each other.

Maybe very obvious but for us the two things that are good are going to cinema together - getting popcorn etc. and playing football together. We take turns at being in goals. I am terrible at football but it’s still fun.

I was also coming on to recommend board games and treasure trails!

You could get involved with a local community theatre, things like the panto would have people of all ages involved. I've also done an all-ages drum workshop that was really fun.
