Jet2 seat allocation question

With Jet2 does anyone know whether you get an opportunity to change seat allocation at online check-in if you haven't previously booked seats? If you do, do they charge you for doing this? Or is it too late and you get what you're given?

When I go to manage your booking it says last chance to book the seats you want so my guess is that if don't choose and pay that's it. Hmming and haaaing over whether to pay to sit with family on the same flight.

Well that's your decision - how long to debate with yourself! Because even if you've got the theoretical option to choose / change the seat up until the minute before you depart - if every other passenger chooses a seat then the choice you're left with is minimal.

Simple rule of thumb - if you want to sit with family, book that now (and pay whatever it costs). If you're not fussed, take your chances & see what happens.

I'm going with jet2 in 4 weeks and changed seats 3 times no charge
Go on the booking and reserve the seats next to eachother it will tell.you above if they are changeable ones extra legroom etc
I have a space next to my window seat and the aisle one has been taken. So theoretically the middle seat will stay free for me to put my book,.snacks etc there. This is what happened on a previous jet 2 flight so me window seat and women aisle seat used it to put our things on

But what I don't know is whether you can change the automatic seat allocation once check in opens and whether they charge for it! That's my question.

It's £12 per seat to choose them, which is a lot. It's not as if these are extra legroom seats or in the first few rows, etc.

All the seats seem to be chargeable - the majority of the plane is booked up, presumably because it's families flying during the school holidays.

Manage booking in yellow
There's a list it says reserved seats x 2
This is where you reserve your free seats or are chargeable ones

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 20/07/2024 12:47

I've just been on row 19 both sides are free.
Rows 21 -24 all seats are free and empty
Rows 28-30 all seats are free and empty

PuttingDownRoots · 20/07/2024 12:47

If most of the plane is booked up, presume you are unlikely to be sat together.

TiredArse · 20/07/2024 12:47

With jet2 if you don’t pay you get what you’re given and can’t change unless you pay. However, I’ve always had them give seats together. But they could be the row in front, across an aisle etc.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 20/07/2024 12:52

Every currently free seat on the flight is chargeable to choose yourself. Cheapest is £12. I wouldn't usually be the slightest bit bothered about sitting together - DP is an unsociable bugger and watches stuff on his tablet. This time I have the opportunity not to spend a flight in silence, although I might be wishing I had done afterwards!!

Yeah, I think we've pretty much always had that in the past.

I was able to check the seats when booking, offered a last chance to change them. We were all seated together anyway - 3 in 1 row & 2 across aisle. I think if you check in online early enough it's probably OK, we did 2 weeks in advance. It would have been £11 I think to change seats if needed.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 20/07/2024 13:26

Jet2 website (had to dig a bit to find the info) states you get a final chance to choose seats when checking in online.

I have never reserved a seat with Jet2, there are 6 of us and we have always been given seats together. I do make sure I check in the minute it opens 28 days before. Although check an hour early. I couldn't choose though.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 20/07/2024 21:33

I've bitten the bullet and booked to sit with family on the way out #sodit

Did you get seats together? Can you update? I'm in same predicament. Thanks
