FlexBreeze or Mini Air Con unit?

Like most people right now, I am absolutely sweltering. I'm also at the beginning of Menopause with hot flushes regardless of temperature, plus I'm on meds that make me intolerant to heat!!! Confused
So as you can imagine, I'm never out of either the shower or in some moments of sheer desperation, the bloody car because there's air con!!! I know, that's irrational & not eco friendly but I can’t take it anymore. There's fans everywhere but they're doing bugger all and we just can’t afford proper air con to be installed.

(It doesn't help that the house is newly built so is like a pizza delivery bag! 🔥)

So I need a compromise. I've had my eye on the Shark FlexBreeze for a while but the reviews I've found sound mostly like either bots or incentivised word salad.
Has anyone bought one recently? Did it blow you away? Wink

Last year I bought a big white £55 'air cooler' - called as much because they can’t quite call it an air conditioner because it did nothing of the sort. Then again, it didn't cool any air either. Just leaked & made noise.
Can anyone vouch for the bigger £150-200 ones? That's my absolute max budget wise.

Please help! I am quite literally a hot mess 🥵

There are lots of things called 'local air conditioners' and evaporators and stuff but you'll get the same effect from spraying yourself with water and sitting in front of a fan!

It's not a proper air conditioner unless it has heat exchanger and a hose/outlet that dumps the heat outside. And those are usually expensive.

I haven't used one but the HOMCOM ones at B&Q and The Range look like they may actually work and be acceptably cheap(ish). Check the window type they work with - the outlet hose has to form a good seal with the window - the included kits tend to work better with sash style windows, not casements or top-hinged windows (like the ones that most people actually have!)

Hope the heat subsides and you get a break soon...

Oh Christ no I'm not having a tube going through the window. I was hoping to have something that could potentially be moved around the house.

Thank you for your informative advice though, that's helpful and very appreciated. I didn't know that. I think I need to save up for air con as I'm like this all year round, just worse in this heat (obvs...) although, I blend in a lot better than in winter when I'm stood in the school playground in -1° in a sleeveless top, fanning myself. Other people --> 🤨🤔😳 Which of course then creates anxiety which only adds to the sweating.

Fans it is then, for the foreseeable. Thanks!
