DH and I have never been to a music festival apart from with day tickets. We have 3 day tickets for WOMAD and are totally clueless. We have tent and sleeping bags, so that is covered but do we need to take any cooking stuff for breakfast or drinks? Do you just buy all your food at food stalls? Anything else we need to know? Are the toilets OK - I might need to go in the night. I’m getting a bit anxious about it do all guidance is much appreciated.

Bring loo roll, they often run out on the last day. There can be queues for the loos in the camping areas first thing so don't delay until you're desperate. If you can afford the 'la di dah' loos they are much much nicer! Bring refillable bottles as there are normally water stations. The food & drink is expensive but delicious, so bring extras if you're budgeting. If it gets too hot head to the arboretum there's plenty of shade. Make sure you download the app. There's often an arty installation in the woods which is well worth finding. Bring the usual camping stuff - torches etc. Have fun it's a lovely festival.

Hi… we go most years to Womad. To eat 3 meals a day is pretty pricey, usually around £15 for meal with drink, especially once factor in kids too. We take porridge pots that just need hot water (so little stove to heat water/kettle).
Showers are always busy first thing, so sometimes good to come back during the day, to refresh for evening.
Generally the toilets arent too bad -last year there were she wee toilets as well as usual porta loos, plus sawdust toilets on campsite which we preferred. Take hand sanitiser in case it runs low. We usually have one of us with la di dah loos so can take kids in (although price is much more this year!)

The phone signal can be a bit patchy so if meeting up with people, old school location and time works better sometimes. Also, always need to recharge phone at somepoint, my husband takes a recharger with him.
Have something distinctive to put on your tent - once there are several up around yours it can get confusing.. we use coloured bunting, then navigate by flags or items on poles to find tent again!

overall it is relaxed and people are friendly. We often have a loose plan (with lanyard programme) and then go to whichever stages sound good if unsure!
Also if you get a chance to do workshops, or taste the world, just adds something different, as does physics pavillion and poetry! If you are bringing kids, there is loads to do at the world of children, activities rotate through so good to check timings.

enjoy!! We are heading there tomorrow!

I'll be there! Queues for coffee and food are LONG in the morning, so I'd advise a stove and breakfast food. The food stalls are so delicious though- definitely download the app; it has info on stalls as well as the music schedules.
Can't wait. Hope weather stays moderate.

Thank you for all the extra info, much appreciated. We are heading off early in the morning, and really looking forward to it. We have a tiny camp stove for tea and coffee and lots of snacks and fruit so breakfast is covered. We have never been to a festival and camped before, so thought we really should do it now before we are too old to clamber out of the tent.
