Turkey spending money

Has anyone been to Turkey recently?

I’ll be going away next week with two teens Ds for 10 days and am now panicking about spending money, after seeing loads about huge price rises.

We are booked for B&B only so will need food etc, plus excursions I managed to save just over £2000 but had a large unexpected bill that I needed to pay immediately, so used some of my spending money which has left me with £1300 do you think that would be enough?

I will also get one weeks holiday pay whilst out there.

Depends where you go. We went to Kalkan B&B and it was expensive compared to friends eating out near dalaman.

We’re going to Dalaman area.

I'm sure you'll be able to find more affordable food options so street food/takeaways or buy from supermarkets rather than full restaurant meals.

But take food with you for the airport. I've seen a few posts and reports about the prices there being absolutely ridiculous - £20/25 per person for McDonalds/Burger King for example.

I’ll do a supermarket shop for snacks and bits.
I’m sure we’ll be fine, I just don’t want to scrip and scrape as it’s our first holiday in 4 years and have been looking forward to it for so long.

If you've got that plus one week's pay you should be fine, unless you're spending £100s on paragliding. Prices are really high right now because of inflation. If you're somewhere like Olu Deniz or Dalyan, which are basically just tourist resorts, you'll need to hunt around to find cheap places. If you're somewhere more integrated you can easily find cheaper local food. Have a look on Google maps for corba and pide places for lunch and lokantasi restaurants for dinner. Those are usually the best value, and the food is always amazing. Also depends on how old your teens are and if/how much alcohol you'll be drinking. Alcohol in bars and restaurants is really not cheap in Turkey.

Basically we found prices to be similar to the uk.

For 3 adults the evening meals would range from £65 to £115 depending on Steaks/drinks/puddings etc. Cocktails were mega bucks. Beers reasonable. Soft drinks reasonable. Burger meals arent really our thing but when we didnt fancy something fancy, like when the football was on we had some lovely burger meals which were really very reasonable.

Full english was about £6 each. Fresh warm bread was 25p per loaf and we would go and have a breakfast then buy 2 or 3 loafs for lunch. Supermarkets have plenty of stuff for making a sandwich, treats, fruit etc and as 3 adults we were quite happy with water through the day.

I did plan to buy a couple of bottles of alcohol (JD & Baileys) for while i sat out late at night but when they asked for triple the price i put it back.

We ate out every morning and evening. Got taxis everywhere (Most resteraunts would come and pick us up and drop us back off). Had a few excursions on boat trips etc. We just said no when something felt overpriced

Thank you, they’re both under 16 so no alcohol for them, maybe the odd glass of wine for myself with dinner but nothing too crazy, which is why when I’m away on my own with them I never book all inclusive as I see it as wasteful, plus we like to explore so don’t like to be constricted to when we can eat.
