Dealing with bitchy colleague - feel like I’m back at school!

So I appear to have mortally offended/disgusted a colleague. No idea why. Not intentionally anyway!

She took a dislike to me the first time we met (I hadn’t even spoken to her and she started giving me the cat shit face) and has made her displeasure felt since then (blanking me, ignoring me when I say hello…). Thankfully I have very little to do with her, and our working patterns meant we only saw each other rarely (she in the office next to mine).

She has now become bezzie mates and smoking buddy of another colleague that I actually used to get on with ok. It wasn’t that long ago we’d have little chats and exchange pleasantries… not any more! She now blanks me (she is one of these who cackles loudly in the corridor and trills away to everyone) and I am now Dead To Her…). These are women in their 40s. I’m being mean girled by grown ass women.

Fuckit, I hate atmospheres! I am too old for this shit. We’ve recently merged and I’m hoping she gets the push (ok so I know that’s so horrible but, feh).

What do I do?

Smile sweetly, get on with your work and don't let the bastards grind you down.

I'm quite sure that Bitch 1 will have form for this behaviour, and most of the staff will be sensible enough to have twigged what she's like. Bitch 2 is stupid enough to be taken in by her, so just be polite and stay out of her way.

Just ignore, stay professional and hope they move away or you find a new role or job elsewhere. Are u a live to work or work to live..cos if you're the latter it won't bother you one bit.

No reaction is the best reaction

I was hoping this would be the last job (planning on taking retirement in 3-5 years or so).

Why are some people such dicks?

I don't know. I really don't understand why adults behave like this. It's a bloody mystery to me.

Hope she moves on, saving you from leaving.

They are insecure in some way and tske it out on other people, sometimes they need to take control and it makes them feel better as aomwtjing else in their life is making them unhappy

Could you approach your former buddy?
