Eufy robot - worth it?

I've been so tempted by a eufy robot vacuum but are they worth the hype? Does anyone have the robovax X8?

Absolutely yes!

I have the G30 model I think which is self emptying - the docking station has a normal bag in it and when it docks to charge it socks everything out-of Eufy into the bag.

I genuinely nearly cry tears of joy when I get home from work and Eufy has been round and picked up all the breakfast crumbs and left lovely vacuuming lines on the carpets

I'd definitely get another one when this Eufy is dead, but I think I'll try another brand and will get a self-emptying one too.

I absolutely love my robot vacuum. I have an older one - the Eufy C30 I think? My tip is to buy the strongest vacuum you can (ito suck strength) - we upgraded to 2000 from 1500 and really noticed the difference and I see a lot are 3000 or even more now.

You still need to get a regular vacuum out occassionally for skirting boards, the odd corner, walls etc. But we have cleaners who do that fortnightly and in between we just use the Eufy. It also actually does a better job in some ways because we have hard floors and pets and we find with a regular vacuum often the dust/hair gets blown around and then settles after you've finished while that doesn't happen with the eufy as it sort of sneaks around picking up all the dirt.

I don't think they last as long as regular vacuums though and they're easier to break through human error - dh dropped something on our last one and although it continued to work, it's days were numbered! Our current one is looking a little bit sick becuase it does warn you that for stairs you should check if it can see them and that dark flors are less likely to be a problem, so it's been working fine and recognising our stairs. But I didn't clock that the lip bit had faded significantly.... and Eufy didn't see the step the other day and went flying down. He is still working but he does seem to be more likely to get stuck now than he used to. I assume the sensor is just slightly out of whack.

My eufy battery went after 5 years so I replaced it with a generic battery that cost £15 on eBay. I love mine I’ve had them years.

I think it depends on the model as to whether you can do this, there wasn't a generic version that we could find to fit the X8.

We have a basic Eufy, no mopping or mapping, but we love it. It just keeps on top of things, as others have mentioned you do need a proper vacuum too, but the floors never look bad. Ours is set on the app to go around at 7am every day.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2024 16:31

Absolutely love mine. I have a Roborock. Goes on three times a day. We have a Maine Coon plus two dogs.

Crispynoodle · 16/07/2024 16:51

Which Roborock do you have, and where did you get it from?

I wouldn't recognise my own house if it was hoovered three times a day!

ViciousCurrentBun · 07/06/2025 16:41

It’s ok but not as good as a proper vacuum cleaner. Ours can be mapped unsure what model number it is.

How much was it?

How much is it and does it really mop properly? I have the original version. I do find them really useful for getting under things but you have to move everything off the floor first and they run out of power very quickly and get stuck constantly.

seven201 · 07/06/2025 21:46

We have one. I like it but you can’t just turn it on, you have to clear the floor properly so it doesn’t get jammed with a shoe lace or whatever. So sometimes I find it easier to just use our normal handheld vacuum. Ours is the L60 so I think also one of cheaper ones. Works perfectly well. I do like him, he’s a bit like a family pet!

HangingOver · 07/06/2025 21:47

I got the Omni and I ADORE it. Ddog is scared of the hoover so Eufy pootles around mopping and hoovering while we're out on walks.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 07/06/2025 21:55

We have the vac and mop and it's great! Cx 10 or something
