Help needed please with an etiquette kind of problem

Hi

I have possibly the first worldest problem ever but it’s triggering my anxiety and overthinking.

I know how very lucky I am.

I have recently had abdominal surgery which was covered by my DP’s private healthcare insurance. I have a follow up appointment with the surgeon and I’m really very grateful to him and all the staff. Is it the done thing to take thank you gifts? If so, what kind of thing?

I’ve never been fortunate enough to have private cover before and I’ve also never had an operation before so this is all new to me and I don’t want to take nothing if it makes us look rude. Also don’t want to go overboard and look daft.

As I said, overthinking is my speciality. Does anyone have any advice please?

Coffee and nice biscuits are always appreciated.

I'd buy a retailers box of chocolate bars.

A box of biscuits or a basket of fruit always goes down well with hospital staff but a letter of thanks is always appreciated, if you don't want to get a gift.

I'd go for a thank you note

Thank you very much for the suggestions. My brain has been a complete blank.

Just don’t want them to think I’m a bit silly or anything.
