Flight radar fans - what might this mean?

Hi ! I downloaded a flight tracker app as my daughter is en route to Asia.
I know some mumsnetters are flight tracker addicts and am wondering if you can help with some ideas of what might be the reason for my daughter's flight taking a sharp turn inland and then a sharp turn back to sea? I will add a photo
It's now flying safely en route again so I'm not worried anymore- but was an hour or so ago!
Now I'm mostly curious of what might have caused such a sharp detour? Avoiding turbulence?
I know you're unlikely to know the answer, but you might have some ideas? Thanks

Hi
flight radar geek here
just had a look
It now looks like it took a pretty normal path over that area, did a sharp right then left to join a new flight path that’s all
but because the “line” is black not purple I think it doesn’t have the satellite data available to determine exactly where it went. Basically there are “dead zones” in lots of places. Flight radar will guess where the plane is, but doesn’t know.
sometimes corrects itself.

def nothing to be concerned about

Im no expert but watch them over the UK quite a bit. Looks like bad data to me and it disappeared from tracking. A quick google says this is common over the Black Sea.

Thank you, that's really helpful! It makes sense with dead zones that might make the plane appear like it's flying erratically- when it's not.. That's a relief!

You’d be surprised how many planes worryingly land in fields/in the sea…and then correct themselves
