A thin, but warm coat for a 3 year old recs?

I have a 3 year old who is autistic. He'll tolerate a thick coat sometimes if you put it on him but he doesn't like it.
He's going to school nursery in September and they've asked us to try and teach the kids how to zip up their own coat before they start.
I'm going to give it a good go, but first I need to find a coat that he doesn't mind wearing.

We used to have one from next, I think it was GAP, which was thin, padded like material but I'm sure it was called Heat Tech or something which meant it was still toasty that he didn't mind at all as it was more like a jacket. I've searched high and low and I cannot find it again, but something like this would be perfect.

So does anyone have any recommendations?

It would need to be relatively thin, not crinkly raincoat material (sensory issues), have a hood and not be long as he won't wear anything that goes past his bum.

Frugi toasty trail jackets are thin but have an amount of padding in them. My daughter had one for nursery.

The Joules thin padded fold away costs are fantastic, I think they would fit the bill

Yesssss!!! This is perfect thank you. I've just ordered 3 in graduating sizes in the 3 for 2 offer hahaha

And I also had a look at the frugi one which I very almost bought but the joules one just cropped in a bit cheaper.

Thank you so much :)

I was just coming on to recommend the Joules ones! My son is autistic and he's worn those for years - the yellow ones are great too you can spot them in a crowd!
