I’ve been paying for tutoring for my child for the 11+ exam, but I’m having some concerns over the quality of the tutoring (long story that I won’t get into).

Up until now, my DS has been completing sheets he has been sent home with, but I’d like to buy the bond books.

Are the age 10-11+ the right ones? Or is it the 11+ - 12+?

Really appreciate any advice.

A child needs to be working consistently and comfortably at or abobe the age group a year above their actual age to pass the 11+

It depends on the area you live in. Some 11+ exams involve maths and English, some are verbal and non verbal reasoning and any combination of the above! Find out what type of questions are used, different areas can also focus on different question types. The local areas on the 11+ forum are a good source of information about the right books to buy. Or ask the grammar which books they suggest.

How old is your dc? get the right aged books.

if you aren’t happy with the tutor, you can just go through the books and past papers.

This school does maths, English and verbal reasoning. The test is in September, so I’m just wondering which bond books will have the questions that are at the standard equivalent to the 11+ exam. I’m guessing it’s 11+ - 12+ then?

Hi OP, I'm a specialist 11+ tutor and can walk you through the books I like to use if you let me know which area you're in. Some of the Bond books are decent (depending on the child's ability and how much they've already learned) but I tend to favour the CGP ones. Drop me a message if you like, happy to advise. 😊

Hi you can also go to the school web sites and download copies of their past papers
