Billund - food options?

Hi all!
We’re headed to Billund in a few weeks for a quick 3 nights/2 days to do Lego land/lego house. We’re staying at the Lodge Hotel. Hotel provides breakfast but I don’t think evening meals. Lunch will presumably be at the Lego places and so I’m trying to figure out evening food options and whether I need to hire a car for a bit of grocery shopping or are there walkable places nearby? Thanks!!

It's about a 20 min walk into town where there are some supermarkets

Are you flying into Billund? If so I'd manage without a car and walk/use the bus.

We had a car but drove over from Copenhagen. We used the shopping facilities in central Billund and didn't need a car to access anyway else.

15 minute walk into town from the lodge via the sculpture trial; we like the gastro-pub in town. And the sushi place with robots! We’ve also been to lalandi’s pizza place and to the legoland hotel restaurant; it’s well priced for a great buffet.

Yes flying in and planning on taxi to the airport. Don’t really want to hire a car if it can be avoided.

@Jennyathemall just wondering how you got on? We're due to go this weekend so any tips will be appreciated.

I can't see how you'd need a car unless you have mobility problems you could walk everywhere to get around and there's taxis and buses anyway even if you want to travel further afield.

I went to the area for work and got a bus from Esbjerg on the coast and also walked to the airport but obviously I could have used the bus.

Denmark is one of those countries that has functional public transport unlike much of the UK.
