How do I ask delivery driver to bring shopping in

I don’t often get the same driver. They used to offer. I’ve injured my back and feel nauseous from my period. I’m in no position to lift heavy crates from the door. Do they have to bring it in if you ask? Or is that just something they’ll do if they’re polite?

If you haven't actually placed your order there's usually a notes section which let's you do things like explain you need assistance. Chances are though if you just say to the driver he'll bring it in

Put a note on the order that you want the driver to bring crates in. A lot of drivers that we have from Tesco often ask where we want the crates and will bring them in.

Ask nicely. I usually give them a tip for taking into the kitchen, but they don't know that when I ask, and they're always surprised and delighted!

Don't understand why you would need to lift the crates? Just unload items into bags by the door and take into kitchen at your leisure.

They brought it in for me. They wouldn’t give me my shopping initially because I “look under 25.” I am under 25, but I’m over 18. No age restricted products. didn’t have my ID as I’d sent it away with my drivers license, but I’ve shown it to previous drivers. This was a new driver. I asked them to phone the manager as I’ve had deliveries for years and spoken to them when I‘ve had this issue before. Apparently the manager “never authorised” this (they did). I got my shopping as they asked a neighbour if I could have my shopping. I phoned and explained and the driver said “well you never showed ID to me and it’s my job that’s on the line” and that made me feel so uncomfortable and embarrassed as I already explained why I didn’t have my ID

How bizarre. I don’t doubt there’s an age thing (I am well over it so never been asked), but how does a neighbour vouching for you count? Also my daughter has taken an order in and she’s a teen and looks it - didn’t have to show ID.
As for your original question they are happy to bring it in in most circumstances as I guess you have found out.

You ask if they will bring it in, they are not psychic.
