Just that really. We are off for 2 weeks, staying in holiday cottages with gardens. One near the beach and one in the countryside.

We always take a frisbee, mini kite, Uno, Trimming, DVDs, books/magazines/puzzle books, colouring/drawing stuff.

Looking for a bit more inspiration on what to take to keep the kids (and us) busy!

A decent knife and chopping board - for me not dispatching the kids...

We honestly don't take much, but in this shitty weather I think I'd take more games, twister, giant jenga, etc. and have the back up of iPads.

Oh we took swing ball to France last year, that was great as it doesn't take up much room in the car

KnickerlessParsons · 07/07/2024 17:21

A pack of cards.

TheChosenTwo · 07/07/2024 17:21

When ours were small they packed their favourite toys and games for a U.K. holiday when space wasn’t limited, sounds like you’ve got it covered tbh!

StormingNorman · 07/07/2024 17:23

Backgammon and Pass The Pigs.

In an ideal world, a paddling pool and a puppy 😂

Cards Against Humanity kids edition is hilarious. Pictionary.

A fab holiday on my eyes is not having to. ring loads of “entertainment”

hence don’t ever take a summer holiday in the UK!

Topbird29 · 07/07/2024 17:30

We take small games that fit in a bag if going out somewhere too - taco, cat, pizza is good, dobble, sushi go are all good. And a notebook and pen - hangman was good to play whilst waiting for food at restaurant .

I spy or Usborne Spotter Guide books so you can explore the area and tick off what you see.
(What's Trimming?)

DysmalRadius · 07/07/2024 17:47

Balloons are good for indoor games, we also take poker dice.

Triomino (like a kind of dominos with triangles) - keeps autocorrecting!

Holidaying in the UK partially to visit family (we're not in the UK). Weather is about the same as where we live (western Europe).

That's a great idea. We're stopping at my DPs on the way to our family of 4 four holiday week so will maybe get one sent to their house (and add to my stock off stuff I keep at their house for when we're in the UK!).
