Loaf sofa - are they worth the £££?

Just that really! I need a sofa of a specific shape and size and there is a perfect one in Loaf. But it’s £3k! I don’t know if they maintain their shape and are worth the money. I’ve always bought sofas on eBay/facebook marketplace before and have never owned a brand new one so it’s a big investment.

I also have a dog that likes the sofa, plus 3 godchildren who visit frequently and aren’t the cleanest!

I have a couple of Loaf sofas. I love them! They need plumping up occasionally but always look good, the velvet one in particular cleans so easily - just a damp cloth cleans any my marks off (I have dogs and cats and a 19 year old who leaves a wake of destruction wherever he goes/sits).

That’s answered my question then! Thank you. It just seems such a big investment if it’s going to get easily marked and damaged!

There are a few loaf showrooms dotted about I think OP - could you see if there is one near you to try before you buy? Agree sofas are such an investment !!

I've been doing a lot of sofa research for the last few months as we’ve got 3 sofas to replace this year. Both online and in RL and the general consensus seems to be no, they’re not worth it. Many seem to not actually like their sofas very much. I have decided to buy from Darlings of Chelsea.

Loaf and Darlings of Chelsea use a lot of the same manufacturers. It's the same stuff under a different name.

Fair enough that the frames are the same, but the styles / dimensions seem very different. Comments I’ve seen about Loaf are often about losing shape / deep seat / takes work to maintain sofa cushions. Styles I’m looking at in DodC are much more structured, so I imagine feel like very different sofas.

That’s interesting to hear, thank you. I will look into Darlings. What was putting me off Loaf sofas was the cushions all seemed very flat. They look lovely on their website but looking at some second hand ones, they look a bit sad!

Darlings of Chelsea are even more expensive than Loaf!

They really are…that’s why I’ve always bought second hand! But my second hand ones no longer fit so I may have to bite the bullet.

I’ll look and see where Loaf showrooms are, thank you.
