Going in a few days for 2 nights & 1 day. Primarily to see PINK!!..Been absolutely flat out at work and will be until we fly, haven't looked at a thing. Was hoping to get to Anne Frank museum & Van Gogh but they're booked out. Did ask DD to look at weeks ago, but.....
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations? We'll possibly have our luggage with us on day2 as checkout will be at 11. I'm happy to take it fairly easy as life has been manic..

We did a canal cruise which was nice and I think you might be able to book.a.tour of the Heineken brewery if that's your thing.

Rent bikes and explore.
Never mind the Van Gogh, go to the Rijksmuseum.
De Hallen for food, any world food you can think about, nice atmosphere, best for brunch/lunch, and also quite nice boutiques.
The Tulip Museum on Prinsengracht is quite sweet and nearby nice drink/food places with terraces and interesting shops in the Jordan.
Yes to a canal cruise.
Chill in the Vondelpark.
Absolutely go into a Hema store - you'll thank me later - and don't forget check out the nail varnishes.

Just a thought - You might be able to leave your luggage in storage at your hotel. Worth asking as may limit what you can do otherwise.

I agree about De Hallen for food. DH and I were staying just around the corner when we visited in April. We went for dinner and loved it. Young, lively vibe with really interesting food. We loved it.

Also meant to say we stored our luggage on our last day at the train station. It was very secure and not expensive.

We really loved the zoo last year, it's fantastic.

The Rembrandt museum was good I thought. All set out how it would have been when he was painting.

Thx All-really useful info on here which helped loads. We used the Centraal luggage storage facility both days-made a real difference as our hotel was too far out to leave luggage there.

Here are my tips for anyone else interested!!
Rijkmuseum was fab-highly recommend. We spent a few hours here & could have spent longer but had to catch our flight.
Also- Oude Kerk (Church) & the adjoining cafe were well worth a visit; both in the older area near the Red Light District & fairly close to Centraal.
I'd def suggest checking out public transport options & sorting a card if necessary-we prob ended up spending a lot on this alone. Partly due to our hotel area and partly due to mistakes we made. It's a fairly complex system to understand. I daresay it's v efficient once you get to grips with it though.
Bring a raincoat!!! And decent walking shoes-we covered 20,000 steps on both days as well as using a fair amount of public transport.
There's a big Brandy Melville for any teens interested...mine certainly was! (We don't have one...).
We found people v helpful & friendly & everyone spoke great English. Will def go back & do the things we had planned but couldn't squeeze in. In short-a great place to take older kids, but fairly pricey so start saving.
