Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa & pondering what to have for breakfast. Probably cereal since I cba to actually make anything. It's nice and quiet apart from the elephants kittens bounding about with their toys.

The washer's on already so I can tumble dry my decent pair of jeans for this afternoon, and there's a second load sorted. I could do with cleaning and tidying the kitchen this morning - it's barely been touched this week & last night's pots are still on the side to be washed 🙄

I'm off out to the local with work friends this afternoon. We'd not planned to go watch the footy but it'll be on & the pub will be heaving. I'm hoping for a seat 🤣

I don't think either of the girls have much planned - dd1 mentioned making a start on her summer work since she's not at work & dd2 will have the usual homework. Their dad did offer to take them out 🤷‍♀️

What about all of you? 🙂

I've got 3 yr old DGS and the weather is dreadful, so it's laundry and I've just introduced him to Bear in the Big Blue House which his Mum used to watch 25 years ago! He's loving it :) (so am I, it's just lovely)
If it ever stops raining we will go up to my allotment and he can hunt for potatoes and cut courgettes with me, as we love gardening together.

In bed with Covid 🤧🥺
DH will be bringing me lunch in bed soon.
Then will spend the afternoon sleeping.
Happy Saturday everyone.

mrswhiplington · 06/07/2024 11:20

Just sat here relaxing for now. After lunch we'll be nipping to the Trafford Centre to drop DD at work and to change a cap that DH bought yesterday. He asked for my opinion on it and I think he wished he hadn't.😃 It doesn't fit properly for a start. Will probably watch the football later with sausages and potato wedges for tea.

Spent the morning doing a few household jobs (unloading/loading dishwasher, putting on a load of washing, and tidying kitchen) interspersed with sitting in 'my' chair with a cuppa, scrolling on my phone and listening to some podcasts.

It's a friend's birthday so I'll pop to see him for a bit this afternoon.

There's an outside concert on locally later and as the weather looks to be dry, DH is seeing if we can get some resale tickets. If we can't, we'll watch a film tonight with teen DC.

Stressybetty · 06/07/2024 11:39

Pulled a muscle in my back a week ago so been quiet, WFH and still sore. Going to try and get out for a food shop when footy is on later. Need to empty dishwasher, washing up, finish washing etc. Tools etc in garden, kitchen and garage really need sorting out, we moved here a few months ago and still very disorganised. Garage too small so needs restacking and sorting. DH wanting to team up in online game however so we might do a bit of that.

Bluebellsinthewind · 06/07/2024 11:47

Not long up. Done a little bit of housework. Having a coffee just now and a scroll on mumsnet then will do more housework. Tween dd is still sleeping as is ddog. Dh is pottering about. Going to pop some more clothes on vinted today also. In the mood to just potter about the house in my pjs today and then have a pamper bath later.

We have a concert tonight, I have wanted to see the band for years. The trouble is it's a outside concert so it will be freezing and it's beyond lashing it down with rain. In a pickle to go or not Confused

Have a fab Saturday everyone Grin

nokidshere · 06/07/2024 11:49

I'm not long out of bed, just had a coffee and am thinking about food. I'm stuck on the sofa after having a massive heart attack 10 days ago so I'll find something to watch on tv until DH & my boys get home from cricket later.

Dr13Hadley · 06/07/2024 11:55

DH has taken DS2 and FIL to some estate agents because FIL is fannying about trying to decide whether to move or not
Ds1 is playing FIFA on his Xbox and yelling at it.
I was going to do some work but gave up in favour of mumsnetting and having a look at the next sale online whilst listening to some nut job mowing their lawn in the pouring rain 😳

EmmaPeele · 06/07/2024 11:56

Hi everyone and a happy Saturday to you all! I had a lie in then went downstairs to a load of dirty pots and pans. Ds had obviously decided to cook himself meatballs and pasta late last night and used every pan in the kitchen. The aroma of concealed chilli tomato sauce is not recommended first thing in the morning, trust me! After doing 2 loads of washing and looking at the sunny (not) Lancashire skies in despair, made disabled dh his lunch and am now going to have a quick shower and nip to the shop for dh's weekend papers. It takes him all week to read them as he has some mental health issues brought on by many physical health problems. I'm his full time carer but on a Saturday, with ds at home, I can treat myself to a quick visit to the local garden centre, my "happy place". Later on, it's tuna wraps for tea and the football (I hate it but I'll watch as its England). Hope everyone has a good day doing whatever makes you happy x

RabbitsRock · 06/07/2024 12:20

nokidshere that must have been terrifying. Hope you recover well 💐💐💐

ssd · 06/07/2024 12:38

Good afternoon!

Its actually sunny here. I cant believe it.

Crunchymum · 06/07/2024 12:48

Just finished lunch for the kids. Going to unload a wash and then put another in.

Weather has been abysmal, we went swimming this morning and grabbed a few bits but it was torrential. I can cope with it just about in November but in July it's just depressing. Hope the worst is out of the way as we have a busy [outdoor] day tomorrow.

We're just pottering around at the moment and later it will be football and takeaway (I'm doing Sloppy Joe's and salad for the kids and we'll have Thai)

DC2 needs to practice for her ballet exam and her poetry reading - both next week - so I'll get her cracking with that. The others have homework to keep them busy for a little while.

DinnaeFashYersel · 06/07/2024 13:20

Kids are a way for a week with Scouts. So lazy day and lazy week (apart from work) ahead.

ShipshapeShore · 06/07/2024 13:26

Kasabian's homecoming gig. Super excited!

frozendaisy · 06/07/2024 13:26

House full of over excitable boy teenagers for football!

Beef wellington half prepped, need to peel a hundred potatoes

And do all the laundry

So i am drinking coffee in preparation

lucysmam · 06/07/2024 13:46

@Bluebellsinthewind who do you have tickets for?

OP posts:
Anjo2011 · 06/07/2024 14:40

The day started with a grocery delivery as always at 8am. I then dropped my DD at work and took some shopping to my parents. This afternoon I’m watching some Wimbledon and not doing much. I’ve had a really busy week, feels like I’ve been in the car for hours and hours so Im pleased I can do very little this afternoon.

nokidshere · 06/07/2024 15:10

@RabbitsRock it was but I'm doing great thank you. 🙏🏻

Bluebellsinthewind · 06/07/2024 15:47

@lucysmam it's tickets to see Skippinish in Inverness 🥶

mondaytosunday · 06/07/2024 17:53

I'm on holiday! Day started with a swim with my DD. Then we (my two kids and my sister and niece) went to a restaurant higher up in the mountains for paella. Then home and less than an hour later took my son to a bar near the beach to watch England play. Just ordered a pizza for half time. I'm not into football and a tad boring for me as I'm driving so only one cocktail for me!
