Should I do anything about it. It’s only since we finished school and are on a break. After he talks and finished talking or asking a question his eyes dart up to the left and right ?

he is 9 very happy and no anxiety or anything, he’s quite bright (sorry I am not trying to brag) and no other issues at all. Happy has friends etc

Is it definitely a tic, and not nystagmus? (I know very little about the condition, just that it’s not uncommon in children.)

My DS now aged 14 has tourettes. The tics started when he was about 9. I would highly recommend you go to the GP and they may refer you to a paediatrician. It may not be a tic syndrome of some sort but something else and you want to check out all possibilities.

FWIW I was told that tics in children is really common and often go away on their own. They can also wax and wane. I was distraught when DS started ticcing because it came on the top of a series of other medical diagnoses and it seemed like 'yet another thing' but it's been quite okay and he is pretty cool about it. No bullying at school or anything.

But, check it out with your GP. See what they say and what steps they advise.

Thank you
it only happens straight after finishing a sentence. He an outdoor lad, never on screens (doesn’t both with tablet or tv) maybe I’m only noticing it now as we are off school/work and I’m with him all day
