Learning Apps - best for summer

Hi does anyone have any recommendations for learning apps for Primary ages children. Youngest is year 3 and very much struggling with reading (likely year 1 level) and eldest is year 5 and needs to work on writing. Maths ideally times tables too. I see lots of adverts for discounts on apps but unsure what is best. TIA

No, no, no…join the library reading challenge or something similar but not a piece of tech. Let them enjoy the summer and keep any areas of struggles low key. Do activities like baking where they have to read and calculate etc. Make it real life learning.

funnily enough we are heading to the li arrg to sign up for the summer reading challenge tomorrow and have lots of books to read at home too. I just though they like like the “screen time games” aspect of an app and it might help them also (esp the younger one). I do get the point about not making their summer “work” or pressure though.

DD learnt her times tables with the Squeebles app. 5 mins a day before school. They also have telling the time/ spelling and maths races. They collect little monsters along the way. All cute little apps.

Plus talk to them and read with them, Make sure that they also see the adults in their lives reading for pleasure.
