Which ninja? Foodi health grill and air fryer or 2 drawer air fryer

Fellow mumsnetters. Help me decide as I can’t. I’m a air fryer virgin and have decided to take the plunge.
But I can’t decide whether to get a combined air fryer and health grill or a dual drawer air fryer.

Here are the needs/ wants

We have 12 year old DS who can use our oven and we want him to be more Independent safely making food like finish fingers and chips .

needs to be easy and quick to wash up dishwasher friendly

I’m trying to eat more healthily and would like to be able to cook meat/ fish.

I would definitely like to be able to do steak and chips at the same time. I think you can do this with a foodi health grill/ air fryer.

I’ve ready the reviews til the cows come
home. Which one should I buy?

Hey! I saw the word "ninja" and had to reply because I'm obsessed with them, I have four different ones haha! This is for me by far the best:

I use it to cook EVERYTHING! I seriously use it everyday, once you get the hang of it (because there are loads of different functions), it is amazing, honestly I couldn't do without it!

@MaltipooMama tell
me more . What do you like cooking. Is it better to have the variability that two drawers?

I have the multi cooker too. The now discontinued 14in1, it's brilliant for stews, pasta, rice anything in water. Good as a grill, steamer or airfryer. I use it everyday.

We have the 15 in 1. Love it. Barely use the normal oven now... just for pizza really.

Blooming love it. Not really used it to grill fish or veg. But roast potatoes are great in it. And veg in stews come out lovely too

I have a large Ninja flexidraw airfryer, purchased a month ago to replace a small airfryer I used pretty much daily for 8 years. I love the flexidraw - great for family meals or one side for small items.

If I didn't also have and love my pressure cooker, I may have gone for the version with multiple lids.

Cook it on steam mode for 10 mins with water underneath, steam veg and salmon in a papiotte and then airfry for 5 mins to crisp the salmon.

Looking at other posters comments I didn't realise the 14 in 1 had been discontinued! That's the one I have too but the link of the one I sent looks like the most similar. These are the things I normally make in mine:

Bolognaise and cottage pie - both can be pressure cooked in 6 minutes
Steam roast - use for all Sunday roasts, beef, pork, chicken, gammon
Air fryer for chips, chicken, quick things like fish fingers, chicken nuggets, roast potatoes, sausages, bacon
Slow cooker for curries, stews
Potato gratin
I also make scones and cakes in mine and they turn out great!

You can get loads of really good Ninja recipe books that will give you inspiration and a general guideline of how to cook most things and then once you have a knack for how to use the different functions you can throw anything in there. In fact the instructions manual that comes with it has several pages at the back which give you a guideline on how to cook most things and on what function, for how long etc

I know you said ninja but I just bought this and it's fab. Cost £149.

I've just bought the double stack air fryer but I was wondering if anyone coud tell me about liners? silicone / paper or are they a waster of time and effect the cooking of the food?

Preq · 05/07/2024 12:22

I have the ninja two drawer one and I will never give it up! I really like it, cooks food well and having the two drawer option helps for just meal quickness and cooking two separate things.
