Does anyone have an email address for Argos customer services? I think I've been missold a product. Twitter team need educating and are as useful as a chocolate teapot and the live chat team are just directing me back to the store when it's something the store won't be able to tell me. I've searched online and can't find any other contact methods.

What do you want to happen?
Will the store not refund you if you don't need the product?

sevsal · 30/06/2024 19:57

Contact trading standards if you think you have been missold and are not making any progress with customer services. That said, you haven't even tried the most basic solution of going into store, so I would guess they will suggest doing so first.

It's earrings, they were advertised as sleepers so I had the intention of keeping them in majority of the time. After I'd put them in there was a slip I noticed in the packaging stating they're not to be slept in - I wouldn't have brought them otherwise. I basically want an answer to tell me if it's the description that is wrong or the slip in the packaging which is wrong. The store aren't going to be able to tell me that, it would be for customer services to find out but like I say they're washing their hands of me. Store are very unlikely to accept a return because of them being earrings. If they say it's the slip that's wrong then happy days, it's not that I'm pushing for a refund, if the earrings are in fact sleepers then happy days.

Didn't mean to say happy days twice sorry, I wrote most of my reply, gone and done something else then came back to it, can't edit as using the app.

Sleepers are a style of earring. The description refers to the sleeper style, not that they can, or cannot be slept in.

dementedpixie · 30/06/2024 20:24

Can you link to the earrings?

sevsal · 30/06/2024 20:54

I think you need to contact the manufacturer

needhelpwiththisplease · 30/06/2024 20:55

It's the earrings style not a description of what you can do in them

Everything I can see online says this isn't the case and that sleepers are named as they are able to be continuously worn, including overnight.

needhelpwiththisplease · 30/06/2024 20:57

So are plain studs but they are called STUDS.

fudgecat · 30/06/2024 20:58

They are earrings. From Argos. Just move on...

Sleepers are hoops. Hoops you're able to sleep in?

@FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant it's actually recommended that you don't sleep in any earrings

dementedpixie · 30/06/2024 21:34

I wear labret type earrings which are designed to be worn all the time. Some are flat back and some have a screw on ball

Regardless though the point still stands that sleepers are designed to be slept in, and therefore if they were advertised as sleepers the OP should reasonably be ok to sleep in them.

swapcicles · 30/06/2024 21:46

I always sleep with earrings in, always have, I'd get irritation if I was taking them in and out morning and night. Usually smallish hoops, studs and labrets.
Honestly if they're comfortable to sleep in then no need to stress at all, just wear them!

mummyh2016 · 01/07/2024 06:41

I think we're all kind of missing the point here. All I'm after at present is an email address for Argos if anyone has one? Thank you @FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant though! There seems to be a common misconception that sleepers refer to the style (I say common, only people I've come across that think this is someone that runs the Argos Twitter and the two posters on here Confused).

I think it's unlikely customer services will know the answer to your question. I guess ultimately they would offer a refund to save them the hassle.

If they are comfortable I would sleep in them. If not, don't! How much did they cost? You need to judge whether this is really worth the time it will take you.

fruitpastille · 01/07/2024 07:01

Customer.Relations@argos.co.uk is what I get if I google.

OMGsamesame · 01/07/2024 07:07

If they were advertised as sleepers but the instructions say not to sleep in them then just return them to the store for a refund. Take the screenshot of where they were advertised as sleepers (presumably argos own website otherwise not their fault).
