Advice on London Tube travel/tickets

Visiting London for 2 or 3 nights in the Autumn. We haven’t been for many years and feel a bit confused looking at tube/dlr ticket prices.
We are staying in Stratford & driving to our hotel and will be booking parking nearby for duration of stay. We are looking at tickets for Zone 1-3 Thurs/Fri to Sun.
Is it more economical to have a Visitor Oyster card or Contactless Payment - it seems daily travel cards are more expensive at £15.90 per day. When we last visited we purchased 3 day travel cards as they were cheapest option.
How does this work - it looks like Oyster cap/contactless cap is £10 daily does this mean if you use your debit card for example you are never charged more than this £10, no matter how many journeys you make?
Does the contactless cap have to be ‘set up’ if you’re just using a debit card ie you need an account? Thanks for any advice/suggestions. 😊

Oyster and contactless charge the same as long as you use the same contactless card for each journey.
Each person will need their own contactless card.
Yes - once the daily cap is reached, all further trips are basically free.
The cap is applied automatically as long as the same card is used.

As Seeline says the cap is automatic so long as you use the same card.

Always make sure you tap in & out of every journey, even if the gates are open (which they often are at smaller station outside of busy times when stations are unstaffed)
